About the SY0-701 Exam
The SY0-701 exam launched on November 7, 2023, replacing the retired SY0-601. It's a sharper, more focused exam (28 objectives vs. the old 37) that reflects today's real cybersecurity workflows — including zero trust, hybrid cloud, automation, IoT, and OT security.
Exam at a glance:
Length: 90 minutes
Questions: Up to 90 (multiple-choice + performance-based)
Passing score: 750 on a scale of 100–900
What You'll Master in This Course
We cover every single SY0-701 exam objective across all five official domains — nothing left out, nothing padded:
General Security Concepts — CIA triad, security controls, change management, cryptography fundamentals, PKI
Threats, Vulnerabilities & Mitigations — threat actors, attack vectors, malware, social engineering, mitigation techniques
Security Architecture — cloud & hybrid models, zero trust, network design, data protection, resilience
Security Operations — incident response, SIEM, monitoring, digital forensics, identity & access management, vulnerability management
Security Program Management & Oversight — governance, risk management, third-party risk, compliance (GRC), audits
Course Structure Built for Exam Success
We've broken the entire SY0-701 syllabus into 11 core modules and 46 focused chapters — bite-sized lessons you can complete on your commute, your lunch break, or over a weekend.
Every section builds on the last. Concepts like encryption, authentication, and risk management appear in multiple contexts, and you'll see exactly how each term connects across the real-world security landscape — the same way CompTIA tests them on exam day.
NEW: Practice Questions & Instructor Walkthrough
At the end of the course, you'll get exclusive access to our Practice Questions & Instructor Walkthrough section — a complete video bank where your instructor sits down and solves real CompTIA Security+ style questions on camera, step by step.
This isn't a silent PDF of questions with an answer key at the back. You'll watch your instructor:
Break down each question word by word — learning how to spot what CompTIA is really asking
Eliminate wrong answers strategically — the exact technique to go from 4 options to 1 confident answer
Explain the reasoning behind every correct answer, tied back to the exam objective it tests
Flag trap answers — the "almost right" choices CompTIA uses to trip up unprepared candidates
Share exam-day tactics — time management, PBQ (performance-based question) strategy, and how to handle questions you don't know
By the time you finish this section, you won't just know the material — you'll know how to take the test. This is where most students jump from "I think I'm ready" to "I know I'm ready."
Real Exam Prep — Not Just Theory
Practice questions at the end of every section, modeled after real CompTIA exam questions
A full instructor-led walkthrough section at the end of the course solving practice questions on video
Focused explanations — we cut the fluff and teach exactly what's on the test
Memory-reinforcing examples you'll actually remember under pressure
Cross-referenced topics so key concepts stick long after the exam
By the End of This Course, You Will Be Able To:
Pass the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam with confidence
Understand core cybersecurity principles, tools, and industry best practices
Perform essential security configurations and system hardening
Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and attack surfaces like a professional
Design secure network topologies and system architectures
Respond effectively to security incidents and breaches
Apply governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks
Approach exam questions strategically using proven elimination and reasoning techniques

This is a great match for me. I am already certified with this course version but I like to keep viewing this to pick up things I might have missed since I did not get 100% on the certification test.

It was a good match. This question was poorly worded: Consider a web designer. He makes a "New Member" page to get membership for the site he has built. He wants member information to be entered on the page. If he pays attention to which of the following options on this page where the member information is entered, he will make the Correct Login Verification?

There are way too many spelling and textual errors in the video. It is obvious that most of the presenter audio is just a text-to-speech application. Errors in the script for the text-to-speech make some of the content wrong. Some of these errors sound like they were created by using a grammar feature on the script. Like changing drive-by to car.

nice platform, as busy system engineer, I can continue throughout the courses right at the point I left, so the lesson continues even I restarted my pc. Content also has lots of example, engaging. keep up this good quality of work , thank you.

yes it was pretty informative. and a lot to take in. i think giving the meaning of abbreviations at the summary stage or the notes summary will be more helpful for the student.

This course is really good. The lecturer here has a very pleasant voice and is very easy to understand. This course has a lot of very interesting content and is never boring. There is a lot of information here that I have come across in other courses on this topic.

Excellent source for information. Goes into great detail. There are glitches in audio in some of the video lectures. The slides in the power point don't match up with what is being said at times throughout the course. Subtitles do help but they also don't match up with what's being said at times and can get confusing trying to read and follow along. (especially with the acronyms) I'm looking at Quality for the money spent on the course.

I will give this a 5 because the content is great! However I do wish each section had more questions to be answered. Another thing I want to add. It would be great to have a bunch of questions after each summary. Thanks

The audio is a bit monotone and could use a bit more visuals as a PowerPoint more eye catching. I love the mini quizzes and the additional resources that was included. Overall it was well balanced

I am enjoying the easy to follow lessons. I like the presentation in snipits with the information I believe I need. Great introduction to the many different types of attacks. WOW, so many.
