How is this course designed?
This Course is structured into following sections:
- Overview: This section introduces you to the course, provides information about the author, course structure and gives you answers to some of the frequently asked questions by students.
- Network basics: This section provides fundamental information on computer networks. Network topologies, different types of networks like LAN, WAN, MAN and wireless networks are explained. One of the most important communication model of computer networks, the OSI Reference Model is discussed. Having the knowledge on OSI Model helps in understanding network functionalities better.
- Physical Layer: This section deals with techniques like Switching and Multiplexing which focus on effectively utilizing the existing bandwidth to accommodate the high rate of data communication.
- Datalink Layer: This section begins with a lecture on framing, a technique to demarcate the frame boundaries. Later we discuss the flow and error control mechanisms, different error detection and correction techniques like Parity Check, Checksum, CRC and Hamming Codes.
- Network Layer: In this section header formats of IPv4 and IPv6 datagrams are explained.
- Transport Layer: This section explains the Transport Layer protocols that provide service to the Network Layer. Header format, features and services provided by TCP and UDP are explained.
- Application Layer: This section begins with Cryptography basics, private key encryption and public key encryption. Encryption algorithms like RSA are explained with examples. Also, File Transfer Protocol is explained.
- Bonus - Wireshark Packet Analyzer Tool(Worth $49): Wireshark is the most popular network packet capture and analyzing tool. This section will provide you Wireshark basics like what is Wireshark, Wireshark Installation Setup (windows), Capturing and Analyzing packets with Wireshark Tool.
- Bonus - Audio Transcripts (Worth $49): Download the audios of all the lectures and listen to them whenever you can, so that your brain creates visual representation of the concepts and helps you cement this concepts in your mind!
- Bonus - Course Completion Bonus: Complete the course and get huge discounts on our other courses! This bonus will help you save 100s of Dollars on our other courses. Don't miss this one!

It was really informational and I really appreciate the opportunity of this free amazing course available and you have amazing teaching skills and it was really easy to understand.

While some good information was presented it often felt like the presenter was reading from a manual. Few concrete examples or analogies were used to help make the concepts understandable. As well the presenter tended to focus on minutiae, such as the math behind encryption protocols, rather than making these concepts understandable or giving real world examples. Spelling errors were present in some slides and the course in general feels a bit dated (example: ring topology is still presented as a current network topology even though it is classified as a legacy topology in 2025).

Excellent content, Overall presentation was great. However, i think the lecture on Cryptography should have been explained better. The explanation of the Public & Private key function isn't clear cut or should have been explained a lot better. Also, the section 9 lecture had no image. Overall, the instructor had a mastery and knowledge of the material.

The questions are too specific and seem to be irrelevant compared to the rest of the content. Example: In the cryptography section, what are the relevance of the values of p and q? What is the meaning of such values? Is anyone using those values? If so, when and how are they relevant?

The overall content per se is fine, and the author seems to be knowledgeable, but the course is very not up-to-date (last update was 7 years ago!). No notes or pdf of lectures are provided. It's fine to watch a video, but you need also notes. Delivery is very dry. Content does not try to explain how each topic (ex. each OSI layer) relates to real-life situation or technologies. Quizzes do NOT provide ANY explanation, thus being a bit worthless. I wanted to give 2 stars, but then I though there was no need to be mean and left the review as 'average'.

It would be more convienent if you do connect the system and guide us with topology topic, also you can show what will be exact requirement if we create each topology. you would have guide us pratical

Uptil now I feel we are going good

I'm sure some people will find this information valuable.. but I can't seem to stay awake when these lectures start. The English speaker sounds like he has a mouthful of marbles. "And this is called as, a Data Transmission"... what?
So hard to follow what the hell this guy is saying... and that's before you get to all the jargon. I've tried about 3 times to finish this course, but I can't.
