Course Description
It’s time to get past any story you’ve told about the limits of technology - and become confident at connecting deeply - even through the screen.
Look, I get it - in a world full of Zoom meetings, video interviews, and video content - it’s easy to feel like you’re just not one of “those” people.
You know, the ones who are natural on camera - they look bright, sound smooth, and somehow always appear at the most flattering angle...
Not you - you think your voice sounds weird, you never know what to say, you click the wrong buttons, and you’re just not good at navigating the technology.
(Let’s tell the truth - awkwardness on Zoom is a pandemic of its own, at this point!)
Or maybe you feel fine feeling your way around the Zoom app - but you default to camera OFF mode, for fear of being seen not looking your best. You’re there, but you don’t feel you look “ready.”
Or maybe you settle for an average, dimly lit angle, and you DO hop on video… but then when you’re called on, you just don’t know what to say. You stumble and stare at yourself, feeling self-conscious and awkward at best, and unprepared or embarrassed at worst.
The truth is - no one’s naturally great on camera. It takes practice.
Confidence on Zoom is designed to give you everything you need to be at ease with the technology - and ready to speak and present yourself beautifully in the age of video calling.
In this course, you'll learn how to:
Confidently present yourself for any on-camera meeting or video interview!
Undo sneaky, negative thoughts that perpetuate insecurity about being seen.
Make sure your brand and signature voice comes through - even on video conference calls!
Build more confidence in your public speaking and presentation skills.
Connect your business goals to the evolution of remote learning and Zoom technology.
Find out the best camera, lighting, and sound/microphone basics for video events!
Make your background tell the story of who you are - express yourself with the best camera set-up.
How to connect with an audience AS IF you’re still in-person, or in-the-room with them.
Feel comfortable making a great first impression while navigating Zoom technology effortlessly!
And if this past year has taught us anything - it’s that we have to be good at adapting the way we work, collaborate, and speak to be effective from a distance.
I’m Alexa Fischer, and I’m a best-selling Udemy instructor with over 114,000 students around the globe. I’m also a former actress who has appeared in roles on top TV shows like NCIS, CSI, and Bones (as well as too many commercials to mention). I took my love of people and became a confidence coach, appearing on The Today Show as well as the stages of major corporations like Sony and IBM, working with executives from Pepsico, Google, and Trader Joes. For the last few years, I've been busy building my latest creation - Wishbeads - intentional jewelry to help make your deepest wishes come true.
In other words, I know what it takes to put in the work, learn new things, and shine brightly. I've done it and I can teach you how to do it too!
By the end of this course, you’ll know how to navigate the app with confidence without losing your train of thought - and how to dress and arrange your on-camera space for an on-brand, bright presentation that looks hi-definition and professional.
You’ll be armed with the right information about hosting meetings, sending invitations, optimizing your audio and lighting. And I know that once we’ve gone over the basics of equipment and how to look and feel prepared, you’ll actually be able to network on the platform.
You might even have ideas for how to use it to optimize business opportunities from the comfort of your own home - without feeling technologically clueless - and we’ll talk about that too.
It’s crucial that you get the technological details squared away - then you can relax and be at ease on camera.
And I’ve got news for you - the video calling era is really just beginning.
How do you make your background look professional and clean? How can you put your logo or business name on the screen? And how do you avoid the upward, unflattering angle we’re seeing everywhere? You need to know - and after this set of lessons, you’ll be ready.
You can be engaging and yes, even “connected” - on Zoom. Virtual environments are different, but they can still bring people together - and you can still find ways to really impact the people you work with and speak to, and you can find ways to be yourself!
I’m here to guide you through the discomfort of “Zoom fatigue” and more - so you can learn to be at ease, empowered, and - perhaps most importantly - excited to be yourself on camera. See you in class!

As a speaker and coach, I’ve worked with CEOs and everyday people, small nonprofits and complex global corporations … and do you know what they all have in common? Invariably, their greatest untapped resource is their own light.
My expertise – my mission – centers on how to access that light practically and daily, and how to create real change from within – whether for an individual, a team, or an organization. How did I come to specialize in this pursuit to ignite what I call “All 1000 Watts” of the power that lies within people? Here’s a bit of my own story...
In years past, you might have seen me on the TV shows NCIS, Lie To Me, Numb3rs and Bones, or one of about a million television commercials. While studying at the Yale School of Drama, and as a professional actress, I met hundreds of individuals who felt “held back.” I saw that well-known movers in the industry and fledgling actors alike shared a common struggle to make their deepest goals tangible, and to overcome internal barriers to living at and working at full wattage. Speaking boldly on camera is one thing; speaking your truth in your daily reality is entirely another. I discovered I had an unmistakable ability to help people tap into their own brilliant light and manifest real change.
So for the last five years, I’ve dedicated myself to doing just that.

I love this course so far, it's very straight forward, and I'm just feeling more and more confident the more I deep dive and figure out what my hang-ups are when it comes to video calls, and just being on camera in general.

I am highly disappointed. The course is well made, in almost every way. BUT I was looking for one singel course to learn Zoom thoroughly. I have had 3 Zoom business meetings, and had problems with some aspects of the software. The most importent subject was "Share Screen" but also Chat and Record. And to my disappointment when I finally came to "Share screen", she just said that: "Thats comlicated, look for the "resources" in the at this chapter"... : (. Then, when I came to Chat and Record, she said (and did not show): "Well it works as the other main apps"... : (. The thing is that you normaly feel confident when you know your way around the software. So my confidence has not increased much at all. My question is why she did not put another 20 minutes, and make the course compleate? But, anyway, beyond that she made a good impression with the style of teaching, so I will definitely check out her other courses.

The contents of this course is very helpful, and it will aid one to successfully provide a presentation on Zoom. The reality is that knowledge of product operations is a key element for video presentations. If one is conscious of their public speaking fears, it makes their fears less powerful. Your background tells an individual story so it should visually connect with your presentation.

I have been doing talks in zoom for work and also for my religious group since March last year, due to pandemic. I feel that would be very valuable to get more knowledge to improve myself. For this reason I am here and I am loving it so far.

Using Zoom has become a necessity for so many different meetings! I was happy to see this course listed by Alexa (took some other classes from Alexa before) and am happy to get more familiar with it...up my game! I like her light hearted way of involving the listener. student. Thank you!

I am not "afraid" of public speaking. I teach and I have done many public presentations in the past. but teaching on zoom has allowed me to look at me teaching and yes, see room for improvement. Love all your advice.. Thanks

With most of our daily stand-ups, one-on-one discussions and review meetings switching entirely over to Zoom this year, I severely felt the need to work on my online presentation skills now more than ever. From hesitating to turn on the video, fiddling with the mic or speaker settings while on a call, or just getting too self-conscious on camera, I realised that my Zoom game was still amateurish and left a lot to be desired when it came to expressing myself effectively. And in comes Alexa, with her new course - a game changer, couldn't have come at a better time. I'm already a big fan of her "Radiate Confidence: the 1000-watt presence" course which I took earlier. Kind of changed my life. So looked no further and went ahead with this one too. Just loved it! The simple, actionable, and easy-to-implement steps, if put into practice, can work wonders in upping our Zoom game. The wide range of topics covered in the course combined with Alexa's lively, enthusiastic and radiant presentation really makes this a very interesting and valuable course indeed! Thank you, Alexa!
