Course Description
AWS Cloud can seem intimidating and overwhelming to a lot of people due to its vast ecosystem, but this course will make it easier for anyone who wants a hands-on expertise in setting up a data-warehouse in Redshift or setup a BI infrastructure from scratch .
Data Scientists/Analysts/Business Analysts will soon be expected to (if not already) become all-rounders and handle the technical aspect of data ingestion/engineering/warehousing .
Anyone who has the basic understanding of how cloud works can benefit from this course because :
- This course is designed keeping in mind end to end life cycle of a typical data engineering project
- Provides a practical solution to real-world use-cases
This Course covers :
Setting up a data warehouse in AWS Redshift from scratch
Basic Data Warehousing Concepts
Writing server-less AWS Glue Jobs (pyspark and python shell) for ETL and batch processing
AWS Athena for ad-hoc analysis (when to use Athena)
AWS Data Pipeline to sync incremental data
Lambda functions to trigger and automate ETL/Data Syncing processes
QuickSight Setup , Analyses and Dashboards
Prerequisites for this course are :
Python / Sql (Absolute must)
PySpark (should know how to write some basic Pyspark scripts)
Willingness to explore ,learn and put in the extra effort to succeed
An active AWS Account
Important Note - This course makes use of the free tiers for Redshift and RDS , so you will not be billed for them unless you exceed the free tier usage which should be more than enough to get enough practice from this course .
Also , this course makes use of AWS UI on the browser for creating clusters and setting up jobs , there is no bash scripting involved. One can use any operating system to perform the lab sessions in this course .
This course is not code-intense or code-heavy ,there is only 35% coding involved , the rest is execution, understanding and chaining different component together. The whole purpose of this course is to make everyone aware of and feel comfortable with all the tools/features used in this course .
Some Tips :
Try to watch the videos at 1.2X speed
Every time you work on a new component or feature , do some research on the other tools that are meant for the same purpose and see how they differ and in what aspects , For Eg Redshift/Athena vs Snowflake or Bigquery , QuickSight vs PowerBi vs Microstrategy

Best course so far on AWS Data Engineering services. It covers all required services in a very easy to understand manner. Duration of the course is also decent as lengthy courses are hard to complete.

The course is pretty outdated. For example it's using Data Pipeline which is going to be terminated soon. Also, I happened to run across several issues, which were not covered by the video, either with Data Pipeline or other services too. The tutor sometimes jumps back to previous steps unexpectedly, so you need to keep a lot of focus on what he is doing.

Amazing course , I have seen lot of courses but people are mostly reading content . it is real technical course which will help me in working on my day to day task . good job !!! Mukesh Agnihotri

Awesome! Examples cover tools, designs, implementations used in contemporary stacks. Lots of courses covers the theories, cramps all sort of information but misses the actual use case examples. Super happy. Thanks!

Learned a lot while going through the course , siddharth mentioned exactly what I needed for my purpose . This course can be extended with orchestration part through multiple options available [airflow , step functions and glue workflows ] . If CI/CD through AWS codepipeline and cloudformation is included that will be cherry on the cake

No time waste with boring lectures and theories, he shows practical and explains, and the examples are very realistic and useful.

Got what I needed from the course. However, the course could have been better. It was probably his first course because we can observe some randomness in the course and there were some technical issues (highly varying intensity of sound) along the way. However, these issues stop occurring as we progressed in the course. The creator seem to be knowledgable. However, he assumes the audience to be knowing things. The creator could have shown the way to search for those things if it was not in the scope of this course (maybe mention some good resources). I know it would say that it would be spoon feeding and the learners should research by themselves. My reply would be that why people would come to Udemy and pay someone if they didn't wanna be spoonfed? Overall, I would say that the content was fine. It could have been better organized and better delivered.

I have found the course very useful . The course contains the real use cases . As an experienced ETL developer, I am very upset about lack of ETL built in components in AWS glue when compared to other ETL tools in the market . This course has shown me how to exploit python(boto3) and pyspark(dataframes) and create etl code without using ready made (or available) ETL components at AWS Glue . Thanks Sid for covering AWS Glue in detail and designing the course containing the use cases from his projects. The other tools Athena, Redshift ,Redshift spectrum ,Quick Sight are also covered with respect to practical scenarios. Even though the sound quality is not consistent , the audio is good . Hoping to see new courses on AWS cloud from Sid in similar lines :-)

This course gives you great hands-on experience with a variety of AWS tools that are all useful in day to day data engineering. I learned how to approach data modeling and data architecture. Also, you work with 3 types of data storage services, RDS, S3, and Redshift.

The instructor needs to plan better his lessons. In many sections of the course, while hi explains something, stops and jumps on other topic. The volume of the sound is different from lesson to lesson. There are errors in some resources. I spend too much time to seek the problems. For example: "21. Lab : Data PipeLine second import Job" The script do not import any data from MySQL. The reason: When I created the table: oreder_items from order_items.csv there are missing column. Also there are incomplete lessons. Example: We create "lambda" but it is not shown how to use it.
