About the Course:

Welcome to the Data Structures and Algorithms Coding Interview Bootcamp with Python!

The primary goal of this course is to prepare you for coding interviews at top tech companies. By tackling one problem at a time and understanding its solution, you'll accumulate a variety of tools and techniques for conquering any coding interview.

Daily Data Structures and Algorithms Coding Challenges:

The course is structured around daily coding challenges. Consistent practice will equip you with the skills required to ace coding interviews. For the next 40 days commit to yourself to practice atleast 2 coding interview questions everyday. You don't need any setup for this as the daily coding problem challenges can be solved in the coding environment provided by Udemy. The course will automatically track your progress and you just need to spend your time making actual progress everyday.

Topics Covered:

We start from the basics with Big O analysis, then move on to very important algorithmic techniques such as Recursion, Backtracking and Dynamic Programming Patters. After this we move to cover common data structures, and discuss real problems asked in interviews at tech giants such as Google, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Apple, and Microsoft.

For each question, we will:

  1. Discuss the optimal approach

  2. Explain time and space complexity

  3. Code the solution in Python (you can follow along in your preferred language)

Really enjoyed this course. The course structure made learning DSA feel much less confusing and more manageable. The coding exercises were actually helpful for practice and interview prep. Explanations are simple and easy to follow, even for beginners. I feel more confident solving LeetCode problems now. Definitely worth it if you want to improve step by step.

BEWARE -udemy's refund policy sucks. I just finished litreally 2 modules out of many and it says I have watched too much course and can't refund money. I reviewed the content of this course and thought about giving it a go. I really wanted this course to help me master DSA with Python, but it’s been nothing short of frustrating. The instructor does not explain what the code is doing — he writes complex recursive or backtracking functions and jumps straight into “running” them without walking through how or why they work. There's no clear tracing or visualization of the code itself — just some messy sketches in the notes app that don’t help build intuition, especially for recursion. He often explains the "approach" on paper but completely skips breaking down how that logic is implemented in code. You’re left staring at function calls like tower(n-1, a, c, b) or backtracking logic with zero explanation of why the parameters change or what the call stack is doing. The recursion module — one of the most foundational topics — was rushed without any chance to develop a real base understanding. There’s no real effort to build the mental model that beginners absolutely need. The course just jumps into advanced problems without ensuring that the student has grasped the basics. It feels like he’s just showing off what he knows instead of teaching. I mean really should you be teaching josephous problem at the begining of recursion without even building the intution about the whole thing? explaining just one time surely isn't enough To make things worse, the instructor does not respond to questions in the Q&A. When students are confused — especially around recursion, permutations, or dynamic programming — there’s no support, no clarifications, and no engagement from him. That’s a huge problem for a course that claims to be beginner-friendly. Even the delivery is an issue. I had to slow the video to 0.75x speed, and it still felt like the instructor was rapping through concepts without pausing. His speech is too fast, explanations are rushed, and his coding style is weird and confusing — inconsistent indentation, awkward naming, unclear flow. If you are a true beginner, especially someone who needs step-by-step breakdowns, tracing, and visual clarity, this course is not for you. I walked in excited to build my DSA skills in Python and walked out more confused and demotivated than ever. Looking at the instructor's profile, it's clear he does not come from a software engineering background. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a business master's, and his experience is mostly in product management roles — not as a Software Development Engineer (SDE). This becomes very evident in his teaching style: he often lacks the depth and clarity needed to explain core coding concepts. He doesn’t break down how the code works, especially in recursion and backtracking-heavy sections, and instead rushes through implementations without tracing the logic or explaining the flow of execution. For a course claiming to teach DSA for aspiring engineers, this lack of hands-on SDE experience significantly affects the quality and depth of the instruction.

First Course i took on DSA probably the best thing i did, I believe, I'm a different person before and after taking this course on how i see a problem and i found the formula 1. Understand the problem 2. really understand -> by Clarifying Questions 3. Come up with Test cases along with interviewer 4. Think -> All possible computations -> segregate the answers or answer -> Brute Force Approach 5. Now Observe small nuances -> Develop Intuition -> come up with Optimal Approach 6. Think loud -> write pseudo code 7. Dry run with test cases you come up with and make appropriate changes 8. Start Coding I like the course structure - Eat the Big Frog(DP, Backtracking and Greedy Algos) first but balancing overwhelming feeling with motivation videos helped me to keep going and complex, ease and complex concepts kept my rhythm of learning. Thank you so much @Jackson Kailath

Thank you for this wonderful well structured masterclass. I like the way Recursion, backtracking and DP is placed before arrays, dict, strings and so on. Anyone would find DSA easy by instructors way of approach and teaching. One feed-back could be with the missing comments in the python code for BST insertion. Rest all were easy to grasp. Thanks Jackson :)

Currently, I am in the middle of my college placements, and I have completed 25% of the course so far. Even though it's just 25%, it has been truly worthwhile. I can't wait to complete the entire course, and when I get placed, half of the credit will go to the man behind this course, Mr. Jackson Kailath.

All the topics were just rushed up and is definitely not for beginners. It was like he was providing a very short crash course with not much explanation. LinkedList especially was awful! Waste of money

By Resma Pillai on 2/27/2024

This Python course is a game-changer for anyone serious about mastering data structures. With its well-organized curriculum, practical coding exercises, and supportive community, it's a top choice for beginners and experienced developers alike. 5 stars without a doubt!

Highly recommended for those who are preparing for coding interviews as well as for those who would like to improve their problem solving skills. Course is structured very well. Complex concepts are presented in a simplified manner so that anybody can understand and apply while writing code

By Alphonsa Louis on 2/26/2024

Excellent course for beginners. Helped me to learn and understand Data Structures and Algorithms very well. I found the course material is very useful. Jackson has a deep understanding about the topic, he makes you not just superficially understand the concept but its roots. I enjoy his way of breaking down complex concepts into understandable ones. Thanks for this amazing course!!!!

By Catherine Loyis on 2/25/2024

This course is a must for anyone looking to deepen their Python programming skills and master data structures. The well-structured curriculum, hands-on coding challenges, and supportive community make it a standout choice for both beginners and experienced developers alike. I wholeheartedly give it a well-deserved 5-star rating!
