Course Description

About this course

Let's dive into data science with python and learn how we can create our own API (Application Programming Interface) where we can send data to and let our model return a prediction.

This course is a practical hands on course where we learn to deploy our trained machine learning models aka neural networks with the flask web framework.

This is a beginners class. You don't need any pre-knowlege about flask but you should know about neural networks and python. We will learn and code step by step together and I will explain what we do along the way.

Besides machine learning apis we will also use transferlearning to use an advanced neural network and use a userfriendly HTML template to give the enduser a visual appealing interface for our application. The user can upload an image and our model will return an image classification prediction

All the resources will be provided and you can download all the used tools completely for free.

Sounds interesting? I hope so! Let's dive in and do this together. Let's acquire new skills and create new opportunities for us.

In General

Why datascience and machine learning? Well...

In the world of today and especially tomorrow machine learning and artificial intelligence will be the driving force of the economy. Data science  No matter who you are, an entrepreneur or an employee, and in which industry you are working in, machine learning (especially deep learning neural networks) will be on your agenda.

from me personal:

"From my personal experience I can tell you that companies will actively searching for you if you aquire some skills in the data science field. Diving into this topic can not only immensly improve your career opportunities but also your job satisfaction!"

It's time to get your hands dirty and dive into one of the hottest topics on this planet.

UPDATE: I've just completed the course and I found the second half of the course to be slightly better than the first half of the course. However, I think this course would be better titled something to the affect of "Flask ML Model Deployment Quickstart" as it's more of code along to deploy two simple ML models via Flask with very brief explanations of the code as you code along and nothing more. It's certainly not a pointless endeavor as there is some value in that. However, there are far better Flask courses on Udemy at the same or a similar price point. For this reason, I would not recommend this course. I'm giving it 2.5 stars because I did learn something, although I feel that it didn't have enough focus on Flask. In fact, hardly any explanation of Flask at all. You definitely cannot expect to deploy your own ML models with Flask after taking this course alone, which is kind of the standard for any paid Udemy course, IMHO. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm about halfway through the course and so far it's okay. Some issues I have with the course thus far is that the instructor doesn't use proper coding conventions, and the code itself could be better. I'm still giving it 3.5 stars because this course isn't meant for Python beginners per the course requirements, and therefore students shouldn't be setback by the code quality. I'm reserving my final review and potential recommendation for this course until I have completed it, where I'll update this review.

The step by step is on the tract, easy to understand, helping me as a junior ML Engineer

Deu para perceber melhor como realizar os primeiros passos para iniciar o deploy, mas acredito que faltou mostrar mais partes de como funciona o framework flask

This is a short course with good information for deploying machine learning models. The instructor responded very quickly to my question, which was really helpful. I really enjoy this course.

I found the course good by not elaborate! It is restrictive in the sense that the instructor gives a very little background to Flask or various imports done in the Python script. Although, he does a good job of explaining the bare essentials in this hands-on session (as advertised!). I wished the course to be a slightly long covering some theory behind the topics.

Yes, I have some basic grasp of the machine learning and seem some of the python works my colleague has done so am familiar with the inputs used in this lesson. Just to note that my tensorflow was not working initially since it stated the module not found. I had thought that using "conda" from their documentation would correct this problem but instead had to use "pip" to actually install the tensorflow package. I'd suggest you might want to re-highlight the "pip" command for other new users

This was a very informative course. The lectures were easy to follow and understand. I went from almost zero knowledge about deploying machine learning models, to having the confidence to take on more complex problems. Thank you!

This course does exactly what it claims: which is to put up a server with flask and to be able to run GET and/or POST requests to the server using 2 different examples of machine learning models. It is completely worth the money and the time invested which is just a couple of hours. A few improvements that I would suggest would be: to give the student the option of skipping the training of the model and go straight to using flask; I would also provide maybe a flow diagram of how the client sends information to the server and the server returns it (I think this last one would actually improve and expedite the understanding of the concepts that we're using. In any case, I was very happy to finalize this course and to learn a quick and straightforward deployment tool which I know I will be using oftentimes in the near future.

Very good course for machine learning application building using Flask. Great and detail explanation. Request you offer more example courses like this.

By German Sanchez on 12/2/2019

This course does exactly what it claims. It shows you step by step how to deploy a ML model using Flask. It also shows you how to run the actual requests in two different ways: 1. using the request method in Python 2. using Postman Very nice also to see and review all the learned material with a more real-life AI model of image classification. A detail I would improve would be to put a disclaimer in the first videos where the training of the model happens, giving the option to skip to later sections. Thank you for providing such a clear explanation. Great tone of voice and pace. Really good pedagogical skills altogether.
