My commitment to diversity and inclusion comes from both my personal background and my professional experience. I was born and raised in Jamaica and later built my life and career in the United States, so I understand what it means to navigate different cultures and perspectives. Throughout more than 12 years in mental-health and medical settings, including my current role as a 988 Crisis Counselor, I have supported people of different races, cultures, religions, ages, abilities, gender identities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I create an inclusive environment by listening without judgment, respecting each person’s identity and values, and adapting my communication to their individual needs. I recognize that everyone can have unconscious biases, so I intentionally examine my assumptions, ask open-ended and consistent questions, and allow each person to describe their experience in their own words. Working with people from many backgrounds has strengthened my cultural humility and taught me to remain curious, respectful, and willing to learn. My goal is to provide every person with equitable, compassionate, and culturally responsive support.

I genuinely enjoyed this course. It clearly explained Diversity and Inclusion concepts and had me reflecting on how I can actively contribute to creating a more inclusive work environment. The facilitator is also knowledgeable and provided thought- provoking insights which made the lessons engaging and informative.

I really liked the flow of the course and the crisp way it was delivered. It was to the point and easy to understand. I liked how the facilitator made it easy to listen to her through her tine and body language. The communication of the material was also very clear

It's a subject I’m passionate about because fostering diversity ensures that teams benefit from multiple perspectives, experiences, and skills. A good match for me would be any material that emphasizes practical ways to build an inclusive culture—creating space for different voices to be heard, addressing unconscious bias, and promoting equal opportunities. I believe that when organizations make diversity and inclusion a priority, it boosts creativity, team cohesion, and problem-solving.

This course has given me a comprehensive overview of DEI, which is very useful for someone like me who is just starting their journey in understanding DEI. The references and statistics provided in the modules were relevant and convincing. The presenter was professional and delivered the content clearly and confidently. However, I found Course 3 too brief, so I could not benefit from it as fully as I did with the other two courses.

The course started well discussing DE&I theory and practice. I really appreciated that part and would have expected to dive into it more. What I did not expect, maybe I overlooked that, was the whole part about cross-cultural business. I found the exemples stereotypical, flat and sometimes even offensive. Overall, a gender perspective was missing. Hence, I am not sure if I would recommend this course, even if I really liked the sections 1-8.

The "Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace" course exceeded my expectations in terms of content depth and relevance. It provided a solid foundation for understanding the significance of diversity and inclusion, and it equipped me with actionable insights to contribute positively to my workplace. I truly value the effort invested in designing this course and believe that it can significantly impact individuals and organizations aiming to create inclusive environments. In my honest opinion, the topic is very informative. I’ve attended few training that are basically discussed diversity but not really focus into deeper meaning of it. However, this training is primarily focus on diversity and inclusion which is something new that will add up to my profile as a manager, some topics are never heard before from the previous training's I’ve attended. Looking forward and excited in adding up my knowledge and expertise to my style of management and of course the focal point is to increase the productivity of the team.

Es una buena plática o seminario, no es un curso como tal, es bastante informativo y muy coherente. Funciona como un acercamiento a los términos específicos de "diversidad e inclusión" y como se aplican o se identifican en nuestro lugar de trabajo.
