Elastic Stack: Elasticsearch & Kibana — The Complete Guide (Udemy.com)
Install, secure, ingest & visualize logs using Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, ILM, monitoring & alerts

Our take
Based on the ratings of 25 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in December 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
EduVerse Academy packs the Elastic Stack 8.x into about 10 hours and 37 lectures: Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Fleet and Docker, across seven sections. What sets it apart is the device logs. The syllabus covers FortiGate firewalls, Cisco ASA, SNMP and bandwidth stats. It leans toward IT staff, network engineers and sysadmins more than developers who want to add search to an app. The listed requirements are basic comfort with a command line and a machine that can run several services at once.
Praise is steady and mostly the same few points: the step-by-step pace, the Docker setup, the ILM explanation and the firewall log examples. One reviewer says the instructor makes Logstash and Beats simple, another says the Kibana sections left them able to build dashboards confidently. Much of it is short and general, though. The one critical review in the sample, at two stars, says the install covers only one operating system and the certificate setup is hard to follow, with little explanation of the main configuration. The rating breakdown also shows three one-star ratings with no text in the sample.
It is a young, small course. It was published in November 2025, updated in December 2025, and has 80 students and 25 ratings averaging 4.1, so treat the score loosely. Ten hours is not much for this much ground, so expect breadth over depth, with four quizzes and two practice tests but no coding exercises. A good fit for someone who needs a working logging pipeline soon. Anyone chasing search relevance tuning or certificate internals will want another source.
Pros
- Real firewall and network log examples: FortiGate, Cisco ASA, SNMP and bandwidth stats
- Covers Docker deployment and custom Logstash images, not just a bare install
- Reviewers call the ILM and Kibana dashboard sections clear and practical
- Updated December 2025 for Elastic Stack 8.x, with Fleet and Elastic Agent included
Cons
- Install is shown on one OS only, and a reviewer found the certificate setup hard to follow
- Ten hours across this many tools means breadth over depth, and there are no coding exercises
- Only 80 students and 25 ratings, so the 4.1 average rests on a thin base
This course provides a solid hands-on introduction to the Elastic Stack. The setup, security, and log ingestion topics are explained clearly with real-world examples.
Labeled All Levels, but it suits beginners with command line basics; one reviewer found the certificate setup hard to follow.
