This is a very good course which provides learners a good overview of what exactly a Yocto Project. However, this is not recommended for totally fresher, but strongly recommend for those who already possess fundamental knowledge of components that make up a Linux system in the following order: ROM code -> Bootloader -> Linux Kernel -> Linux Filesytem

Very nice course, enjoyed a lot the content which gives you the confident to lay the ground floor of yocto. Yocto is a complex and wide topic which means it is not easy to just do a course about, I think the instructor made a grate job selecting the countent of this course. Thank you

Good starter course for learning about Yocto. I felt that the beginning of the course went way too fast & without as much explanation as I wanted, but by the time we got into section 3, I was a bit more comfortable. I think the instructor could have cut out some of the times that he made a mistake, because it ended up wasting my time. However, he was very thorough and I feel like I'm ready for the next course!

Interesting course. Provides the basic notions of Yocto's organization etc. However, does not provide that much insight into writing recipes, it requires buying another course for that (not very cheap). For the course price I think it would be nice to add recipe writing / bitbake content here too. The Yocto version codenames could be updated too.

Good intro how yocto projects are organized, how to build a first image for popular platforms. I like the form that teacher is actually doing the things which is talking about. It is an extra opportunity to see what and how he is using various linux tools. Eager to see the next class

Overall satisfaction is good. The course offers a very good introduction to yocto and explain all the necessary concepts to have a good understanding of it. It guides you from the very beginning on how to get yocto to have a fully Linux stack running on QEMU, BeagleBone and Raspberrypi. However I think that he course needs to be updated in section 7: - The meta-raspberrypi layer is no longer dependent of the layers mentioned in the course. It only depends on the poky layer - The .rpi-sdimg is not generated by default with core-image-minimal. You have to add it to the IMAGE_FSTYPES variable

Overall a good course to understand the basics of Yocto project and to build our linux distro using the Yocto and OE projects. What's lacking is depth behind some explanations, voice quality and missing content. 4.5 hours course is too little content for a single course when we pay for it. There should have been basics of creating your own layers and recipes to make it complete. Not too critical improvement can be attaching resources to respective sections which will make it easier to locate them

Great course. The instructor has posted lots of notes which you can use to follow along and as a reference later on. He explains everything clearly. He regularly responds to questions. He has an accent but it's really not a big deal, I can clearly hear him at 2x video speed. If the accent is a deal breaker then you should re-think your priorities in life. Would highly recommend for learning yocto.

The content is great, however it is quite unpleasant to listen to. I was new to yocto and I did not find a lot of great videos for yocto beginners. Despite the strong accent the course gave me a very informative introduction to yocto. First the terminology is mentioned to give an overview and then these topics are covered in more detail. Maybe recipes should be mentioned in more detail very early instead of quite late. Details about recipes are mentioned towards the end of the second course. For more in depth details the second course is kind of mandatory.

Learned a ton from this course! Gained a lot of confidence. Now embedded space doesn't look that scary anymore :-) This is definitely the best course for beginners as it gives a solid foundation on Yocto. Love the simplicity in teaching. No fancy slides. Just with plain text and with vi editor. Thank you! - Ananda
