WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS
Over 7,300 accountants, auditors, and finance professionals have used this course to sharpen their depreciation knowledge and build models they can rely on.
The course focuses on the practical realities of fixed asset accounting — not just the formulas, but the situations where things go wrong:
- What happens when an asset is purchased or disposed of mid-year?
- How do you calculate the exact gain or loss on disposal?
- How do you forecast depreciation for next year's budget?
- What is the balance sheet and P&L impact of each transaction?
You will work through real examples and learn how the depreciation model handles each scenario — including the ones your colleagues struggle with.

Prashant Panchal | ACA, FMVA — Finance Director. Educator. AI-First Finance Practitioner.
Nineteen years as a senior finance executive in the GCC. Chartered Accountant. FMVA. Big 4 audit foundation, followed by 13 years as Finance Director of a global security solutions company — running a multi-country operation across three countries with 1,850 staff, four service lines, and a full IFRS reporting stack.
The numbers from that stretch: revenue up 150% over 13 years. DSO down from 150 to 55 days. Cash flow conversion at 120%. Budget accuracy from 60% to 90%. Report production cut by 70%. Month-end close accelerated by two working days. None of that came from better intentions — it came from building the right tools and automating the right processes.
That is what I teach here.
Every course I've built — financial modelling, depreciation accounting, advanced Excel, automation with Power Query and VBA — came directly out of a problem I had to solve in a live finance function. Not a textbook scenario. Not a clean dataset. The messy, mid-month, pressure-cooker version of the problem that your manager needs resolved before the board pack goes out.

The provided workbooks are extremely helpful. However, the instruction pace is very fast. It would be great if Mr. Panchal talked more slowly.

This course thoroughly explained the concept of depreciation and gave practical examples. The excel spreadsheet is a wonderful tool! This class "filled in" in some knowledge gaps for me. Thank you!

I am really pleased with this course, very happy to have the excel template and looking forward to putting in my own data. Sometimes, I found the talking a little fast for me, but turning on subtitles helped, I did appreciate the faster talking when it was a topic that I knew though :) Glad I could back up and see again the steps that I needed to understand fully the spreadsheet. Thank you!

Really a good course. Request the instructor to come up with an Excel course on building such models

The material provided was very useful. The slides were very good. You need to speak slower - especially in the theory slide sections where you explain the three different types of depreciation methods.

Really enjoyed this course. Although I have experience in a number of the topics still found some gems that I can use in my everyday work and thanks for all the tips and shortcuts they will definitely help! Great content and pacing, with loads of data to play with as you learn.

Instructor was very good with his step- by -step explanations. He has even done up an impressive Fixed Asset Depreciation template and shared the template willingly. I have not opened the template (please email me the code). Thank you !

The template is very effective but I don`t understand clearly the method and the meaning of numbers. if there are pictures or illustration may be easier to understand the definition.
