About The Authors
Brad Traversy is no stranger to creating courses. He runs Traversy Media and one of the largest coding channels on YouTube. Brad got his start in freelancing. Before ever working for a company, he built his own business from the ground up. It eventually turned into a thriving agency that he ran for years. Eventually, Brad got into technical content and education, hence this course.
Kyle Prinsloo is the co-author of this course and Kyle still runs an extremely successful freelancing business. He is a mastermind when it comes to client outreach and running an ongoing profitable business. Brad will present most of the content in this course, but Kyle had just as much, or even more to do with the knowledge given.
What Will You Learn
The course is broken up into sections to help you with different parts of creating and running an individual business or an agency.
First Steps
In this section, we will talk about the mindset that it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. The minimum skills to start freelancing and go through a business checklist.
Your Portfolio Website
Having a well-thought-out portfolio website is absolutely key when it comes to getting clients. We will talk about what exactly should be showcased on your site.
Niching Down
Sometimes it's better to find and stick to a specific niche and become a master in that area.
Services & Pricing
Finding the right prices to charge is difficult. We will talk about hourly vs fixed vs value-based pricing. We will also discuss outsourcing work to others to get more done.
Getting Clients
One of the most important topics is client outreach. We will look at different methods from freelance platforms to cold calling to social media and more.
Proposals and Contracts
learn how to create professional proposals, invoice clients, and create legal contracts
The Development Process
This is not a programming course, but we will go over some of the phases of creating a website or application for a client.
Important: There are no documents/resources such as custom invoices, etc included in this version of the course. There is a premium course that includes that stuff located off of Udemy.

Bizimlə öz dəyərli bilik və təcrübələrini paylaşdıqları, zəhmət çəkərək belə faydalı bir kontent yaratdıqları üçün kurs instruktorlarına öz təşəkkürlərimi bildirirəm. Kursun daxilindəki bölümlər və hər birindəki videolar freelance və biznes sahəsində çox şey öyrənməyimə kömək etdi. Var olun hər biriniz. Kursda tək bəyənmədiyim şey kurs materiallarının əlavə, başqa bir kursu satın alacağımız təqdirdə edə biləcəyimiz şərtinin qoyulması idi, yarım ulduzu da ona görə azaltdım. Çox sağolun

As a frustrated freelancing experience, I can assure the beginners in the freelancing journey to mainly focus on the exact things that Brad teaches, like making things clear about the client's requirements and managing the work/life balance, keeping enough time to work on other projects, not draining yourself in some kind of complex project that eats up your time, energy and efforts, etc. A lots of lessons that I learned through my experience over the years is explained in this course, and I still learned many things. Thank You, Brad!!! Lots of Love..

This course has been a treasure trove of ideas for my freelance career. The content is outstanding, particularly the sections on business promotion, client acquisition, and skills marketing. It's been a game-changer for me, and I'm thrilled that I invested in it. I'm eager to put into practice what I've learned. I'm particularly keen on https://freelancemastery.dev/ to access the templates mentioned in the course. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the creators for developing such an exceptional freelancer course that I couldn't find anywhere else!

It has quick overview on which way to start a website developer business. It is a pity, though, that I don't always get the documents with an example of what a contract looks like. It also contradicts with Freelance Fam about using templates. Now, the course does provide an excellent foundation to start a freelance web developer business.

As usual, Brad displays his wonderful knack for breaking down processes and teaching them in a way that allows for users of any level to grasp and incorporate for themselves. This was exactly the kind of course I was looking for as I begin my freelancing journey, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you.

This course was very informative! Brad provides a real-world take on freelancing for developers. There are many insights on how to find and communicate with clients. I especially took a lot away from the services and pricing section of this course. Although the templates mentioned are not provided in this version of the course, it's easy to find similar templates online or you can write down the info.

Amazing course. Really well organized & packed with ton of applicable information. Before I didn't have a perspective what it takes nor how does it look like being a freelancer, until I finished this course. Now I know and I can wait to start my journey:) Thank a bunch for putting up such a valuable course, very much appreciated. Likewise best of luck to all of the instructors!

I've been following Brad Traversy on YouTube and Twitter for a long time now. I went through most of his "crash-course" series on his YT channel, and also his Udemy Tailwind CSS From Scratch course. He is BY FAR my favorite Instructor. Better than Maximilian and Jonas. I have learned more from Brad than any other YouTuber or Udemist Thank you, Brad, for all you do. And Good Luck to all future freelancers and entrepreneurs.

Some filler content ("don't give up, you can do it" etc.), or captain obvious explanations (e.g. 5 phases of development), but also a whole lot of useful information. Especially reminding me that my clients are common business owners, not other techies. And they have the same biases and heuristics that I have when I go shopping in the internet.

Amazing showcase of all the business skills required to freelance in any industry. I've been freelancing for years and I've learned a lot from this course, especially about how to price my offerings, how to reach out and find clients, and how to better manage client expectations. On top of this, the "guest star" sections with mini crash courses on business proposals and UI design principles are excellent. As always, another outstanding course from Brad, and very relevant in today's gig economy. Thank you!!
