- Database operations: Just as much database knowledge as you need to do data manipulation in Python
- Auto-generating spreadsheets: Kill the drudgery of reporting tasks with xlsxwriter; automated reports that combine database operations with spreadsheet auto-generation
- Text processing and NLP: Python’s powerful tools for text processing - nltk and others.
- Website scraping using Beautiful Soup: Scrapers for the New York Times and Washington Post
- Machine Learning : Use sk-learn to apply machine learning techniques like KMeans clustering
- Hundreds of lines of code with hundreds of lines of comments
- Drill #1: Download a zip file from the National Stock Exchange of India; unzip and process to find the 3 most actively traded securities for the day
- Drill #2: Store stock-exchange time-series data for 3 years in a database. On-demand, generate a report with a time-series for a given stock ticker
- Drill #3: Scrape a news article URL and auto-summarize into 3 sentences

the link the instructor mentions are old...the shortcuts are different....the video has not been updated with latest software updates...I like the interface with which the concepts are shared, the exercises could have been made a bit better! The machine learning module goes very fast and goes deep into technical aspects. The other modules such as working with files and databases have been very helpful!

At this point, I am really enjoying the content, but I feel like some of the lessons move too quickly and barely touch on what seem to be important aspects of Python. That being said, I am still learning a lot and I am sure that will continue! Hopefully we will dive deeper into some of these topics later in the course.

Good Content Clear explanation! It is delivered painfully slow, use of Pen to write every word makes reading slow and is quite distracting.

Course is structured so appropriately and concepts are explained beautifully. Not only this course, all loonycorn courses are amazing. In case I get to take a sabbatical in my work, I would just enroll in all Loonycorn courses instead of signing up for classroom programs at universities.

This is a great python course. You will have the opportunity to dive into relevant topics. They are well selected. You will download files from websites, unzip them, read, process and finally write to Excel. You will work with a database. You will learn about objects , object oriented programming and how to use them. And you learn a lot of meaningful things about text analysis and applications of machine learning. I favor LoonyCorn - in my view, they are head and shoulders above the issues and convey the critical issues.

This course will confusing to the beginner user. I've read some python books which break this stuff down in simpler terms so I was able to understand somewhat what they meant. The examples they use are complicated for the beginner. The graphic of the hand writing text could have better been used writing code instead of writing what the person is saying because by time the hand finishes writing the narrator is already talking about something else. then it disappears. The class on dictionaries would have been better with simple values and keys to help new users grasp the concept. EX favorite sports = { ' sam' : 'soccer' , 'Keith' : 'baseball'} something to that effect...Accent of instructor could be an issue for English listeners.

The instructors come up with very creative ways to explain concepts that may not be easily accessible to most, and have very calm and easy to follow voices. They explain ALL of the components of their examples, and I've rarely had to stop the video to rewind and listen to anything twice. I like the portraits they include at the end of each lesson!

This is a a comprehensive and informative class that will guide you as a beginner to advance level. the production and video content is broad and precise. Giving me the chance to amass huge number of information with precise details, That's amazing. The class delivery is very interesting and the instructors are very engaging with quick feed backs. I love this class and feel good using my what I have learned to to improve my programming experience.

I have completed 3 sections so far and content in each module look really nice. Course continued step by step from first lecture itself which helps in understanding overall learning phase.

I am pleased with the example in the course. It's great to have something to apply the theory to, step by step, as well as the topic is interesting. My background is business analytics, so stock information helps me relate. Also, classifying articles is an interesting and applicable topic, so I feel very confident in my ability to use what I have learned. Thank you.
