Fully Accredited Professional Counselling for Adolescents (Udemy.com)

It is good to take this course since I will be working with teens exiting out of Child Protective services with no place to go. Most of them have a history of trauma and no help in dealing with it.

I am a University Guidance Counselor. I handle high school students mostly. Though the initial lessons covered about the issues faced by adolescents, towards the end it did not focus much on an adolescent stage.

Quite a detailed coverage of adolescent counselling. This is of a specific type, needing special skills; different from general counselling. The course along with the Manual becomes a powerful learning resource. Thanks to Dr Karen E Wells.

Unfortunately this course did not deliver a standard that was acceptable. Every Module was the same slide with added wordage. I found each Module was simply a list loosely based around the title. There was no constructive information or as a student nothing to tutor me in the 'art' of being a counsellor / therapist.

Great beginners course in counseling adolescents. great as an extra tool if you are in a profession were you work with teenagers, i.e. sports coach or trainer, teacher.

This course heavily depends on the PDF training manual. The lecturer will only read briefly the key points in the manual. So the price is definitely counting for the manual, and you have to read it through by yourself. I suggest more counseling skills and techniques have to be taught, specially the inner self of adolescent.

This was good. It helped to put a few things in proper perspective, though 75% of the content as such was stuff that I am already familiar with either through formal educational courses in psychology and counselling or thru my practical exposure to counseling. Definitely it is very helpful.

This is the second course I have done which was devised and conducted by Karen Wells and she is fast becoming one of my favourite instructors. She really has a lovely, calm speaking voice which is easy to listen to and therefore you take in the information easily. It is important to remember that the course notes that come with the course are to be read through thoroughly, as the videos are just a summary of the entire course. Highly recommend.

Another string to my therapy bow. I already have the KEW Counselling diploma but this extra knowledge will help me counsel adolescents and maybe pass on some tips to parents I'm counselling too.
