Course Description
The goal of this course is to give you an moderately in-depth look at the facilities GarageBand offers you to make music. Since this is a fairly straight-forward piece of software compared to its big brother, Logic Pro, I will help you squeeze maximum productivity out of GarageBand in a relatively short amount of time.
The first thing you will learn are the basic sectors of GarageBand and their functions. Following this, I will dive into the individual sectors of the software, one at a time, and then eventually help you to integrate them together to create a final product. The course, therefore, will first focus on the individual parts of the software, followed by how to combine the parts to allow you to get to the fun part: making music!

Yes, this was a perfect match for me. I have been using Garage Band some, but this has helped me learn more specific things and functions to adjust and start making some music.

Not confident the instructor totally understood how to map the notes using the quantiser. Seemed to be bit hit and miss about it’s functionality.

Good for someone like me who only has a basic knowledge of the subject.

I got this as I wanted a better understanding of eq and midi in Garageband. The best parts for me were in showing a basic approach to manipulating the EQ and how to find the smart controls for midi. The instructor only uses dance music examples, in an improvisatory way, which I found fairly dull - as if he was noodling about, rather than having something prepared (which is what I expect from a lesson). Also I wanted something that included recording actual instruments and showing what features do/do not apply but this is not a part of the course at all. That's really a shortcoming of the course description. If it said 'a course is about dance music, just using midi instruments and loops' I wouldn't have chosen it.

Michael did a great job at putting this together. I've had GB for years but never been able to fully understand it. I discovered so many features with this course. I highly recommend it.

Like a friend giving you some hints, not as a lecturer. Some failed moves makes it natural but some preparation in advance would be rather helpful. Namely the last session of 37 minutes should be perfect; otherwise nobody will ever watch it again. I am not planning to watch it again in my life.
