Elmira Strange

My name is Elmira Strange, and I am Motivational Psychologist and Certified Life Coach. I am passionate about working with students who want to learn about Psychology, Psychotherapy and working with people (coaching).
My previous work involved Research Psychology and Lecturing at University (UK).
The unusual bit: I was born in Northern Kazakhstan (where it's freezing cold in winter -40C and really hot summers +40C), then moved to Moscow, Russia, and finally to London, UK.
The interesting bit: I had a life-saving surgery and near-death experience in 2012. The near-death experience made me realise that we are here to share our knowledge, help each other, and enjoy this life.
My interests: Psychology, Motivation
My previous experience: Whilst I was working at University (Wales, UK) as a Senior Researcher and Psychology Lecturer (prior to Udemy), my focus was on 'Researching Stress in Families of Disabled Children' where I had to learn what makes people stressed and unhappy.
Since 2006 I am working as an 'online entrepreneur': writing blogs and books, creating YouTube videos, and now 'teaching online' which has become my true passion. In my Udemy courses I combine my extensive knowledge of 'online entrepreneurship' and my passion for MotivationalPsychology, Coaching, and Psychotherapy.

Great introduction into gestalt. The speaker is very easy to understand and give great insights into the therapy style. I would like to have more examples for each techniques. But I really liked the course.

Wow. I'm just so impressed at how concise, clear, structured, and fun this course was. It was seriously the highlight of my day! I would wake up feeling so energized because Elmira would "receive" with an amazing new lesson for me every day!
She has such refreshing energy which allowed me to stay intrigued and present. Also, because it was so concise, I was able to find really good resources and books based on the names included in her lectures.

So far the course is a great match. Ms. Strange goes into a fair amount of depth, and offers sensible advice and caveats that others might neglect, and references similar schools of thought or practice in order to highlight not only 'what-is', but also 'what-is not'; this well rounded, informative and above-board (honest) approach is both appealing and well executed. Halfway through, now, and she is just as informative, as well as forthcoming with suggestion on broadening one's understanding of the material (i.e., recommended reading, etc). I have no complaints, and much praise!

Est bien explicado y puede ser interesante de aplicar en algunos casos. Me ha gustado el apartado final de las limitaciones. No me ha gustado la constante obsesin comparativa con el psicoanlisis, adems de que la mayora de cosas que se dicen sobre el psicoanlisis son mentira (llevo 10 aos estudindolo y en el divn). Quien organiza estos temarios debera estudiar un poco ms sobre el Psicoanlisis hoy da en vez de basarse en rumores y prejuicios, porque eso es justo lo que hacen con Gestalt despus, desprestigiarla con prejuicios y rumores falsos. Debemos de ser rigurosos.
