Course Description
From this course, you can learn Git from basics to advanced concepts.
This course was created for software engineers who want to learn how to track changes with the help of Git. No matter what programming language you use - the git is equal for everyone :)
There are a lot of other courses on this topic. So, why would you choose exactly this course? Here are just a few reasons:
- Real-life cases & demo during the video lesson
There are a lot of other courses that taught you Git. But there are only PowerPoint presentations and nice diagrams. You may learn hundreds of git commands but you won't be able to apply them in real life after that courses.
In this course, we will imitate teamwork and work on one project from scratch. We will review different life scenarios online, on the video, I will show you the best way to approach various cases.
You are going to learn enough theory to understand practical examples and exercises. No watter :) Only Git!
- Practical orientation of the course
This is what makes this course so unique. During the course, we are not talking about super abstract things and inventing our own Git. Your focus is put on the questions that you will face on daily basis during the software development. That's why this course is called 'Practical Guide for Developers'.
- Q&A support
The significant difference between the online and offline learning process is the instructor's availability. If you are in one room with a tutor he always can help you to get understand the specific concept or to help fix your code on your computer.
In this course, we are supporting students with answers to any questions flagged in the Q&A section. In case there will be recurring questions - separate video lessons will be created to show how to address the issue.
So with this course you are not just getting video materials, code exercises, source code, access to the free mobile application without limits (which is still pretty cool, huh? :) ), but you also get tutor support and answers to your questions along with this course.
- Relevant knowledge
After our team investigated other Java courses on Udemy we realized that most of them have nothing in common with real life. The information which is shared there is very old and significantly out of date. For example, the instructor teaches a framework which is not been used already for 15 years. Or instructors do stress on the programming design which is not used anymore at all!
The instructor of this course is a consultant in a top-rated IT outsourcing company and helps to bring cutting-edge solutions in IT for all his clients. Feel free to check the LinkedIn page of the instructor and check skills endorsement. More than 19 thousand people across all over the world (BTW most of them are from the top 100 companies of the world) evaluated the skills of Andrii Piatakha.
With this course, you can be sure that you will spend your time learning the right things from one of the best IT consultants in the world.
- High concentration of useful material in each lesson
Sometimes you can notice that watching 5 minutes of our lesson is equivalent to watching another 30 minutes lesson.
This is because time spent for preparation for the lesson (script for the lesson, lesson structure) and video editing (to cut boring pieces of the lesson or time when the program loads) sometimes 10 times as much (sometimes even 20) as the final lesson duration after video editing.
Also, each topic is separated from another. In case some concept will be explained in the next lesson and you don't need to worry about understanding this in the scope of this lesson - the instructor will make an announcement when a specific topic will be covered.
Go and try it yourself! We will appreciate your feedback.

Git training was really good, I really appreciate it, so thank you, Andriy. The only thing I cannot understand - is why Code Review training is attached to the Git training. This is not what I intended to take part in, because code review is not the topic what I am interested in currently, and in particular not for Java. So, I have to scroll all lessons of Code Review training over. It would be therefore appropriate to at least change the title of this course.

I liked the first part of the course, as it focuses on what the title promises: GIT. And in that regard, it fully met expectations, with examples you can follow and clear explanations. The speaking pace is also appreciated, since I’m not a native English speaker. That’s definitely a plus. However, halfway through the course, it starts covering topics like Review Fundamentals, Code Review Strategies, Java, and the analysis of Metrics and KPIs—which, frankly, I’m not interested in at all (although I suppose others might find it useful). This means the course is really dedicated to GIT for only 5 out of its 10 hours. But for GIT… it’s highly recommended. Oh, and it was free. That’s a big bonus.

So far the course content is great, but my only problem with it is that it's very hard for me to understand what he says. I'm not a native English speaker either, so probably that's part of the reason. But it would be a much better improvement in the overall understanding of what he says if the transcripts/captions could be corrected and match what he says. That would make, in my opinion, the course way better. Thanks!

The content of the course was amazing and I have no issues regarding that. I did learn a lot while going through the course. I don't think there is a better course on git than this. I mostly deducted a star due to some quality of life issues that I faced while going through the course. 1: The project that you were showing the demos on isn't included in the resources.(I tried looking for it, I am sorry if I missed it somehow, I will change my review if I did.) It is much easier to follow the demo if we're doing the same thing. It isn't much of a issue but it would be great if you included it. I still couldn't find it in the attachments of the first 6 sections. Maybe you could point me to it

Very knowledgeable, I was expecting something mor superficial but this man really goes to the roots of the matters and teach you what you really want: how to use git in the context of a company, with various examples and very clear definitions and different opinions

Thank you Andrey for this course... this is the course just what i expect for any Git Course... purely command line and to the point explanation. reduce one star bcos of missing couple of topics i.e. Tag , Fork ... ( which U promised U'll teach ) and also moving little faster and if possible pls run git status & ls commands to some frequent so that we understand the status before any action which will be helpful... Once again Thank U :-)

Currently half way through and I'm really, really happy with this course! Everything's very easy and simple explained without unnecessary information, easy to remember and real life scenarios. What can be better? Edit: I've finished the course and all videos, as expected, were example-based. All easy to follow and very rememberable=)

This course is really amazing and it contains most of the content a beginner or a developer must know about and not only this the way he teaches and the examples he gives are just super easy to learn. Thanks again for this awesome course.

It definitely is a good course, I put Average/Good for now because it wasnt shown at the start where to pull the git project he uses, with that I couldnt practice like he did in his videos, next the accent sometimes gets in a way of understanding every word, still I think It is a Good course.

The course is amazing!!! It covers git in-depth and that too in an easy and simplified manner. The demo oriented teaching helps in the imitation of various real-life scenarios. Being a computer engineering student this course was very helpful for me in learning git to maintain my projects.
