Hands-on with Amazon Redshift (Udemy.com)

This is one of the worst courses I've seen. First, much of the first section is advertising for AWS (here is why AWS is great and on-prem is bad). I suspect most people who have purchased this course have done so because they want to learn Redshift regardless of who the vendor is. Much of the rest of the course seems to be "this is how you accomplish a generic task in AWS" and is incredibly light on details. For example, I expected the architecture lecture to give details like the database engine upon which Redshift is built after showing the overview, but the architecture lecture was completely superficial. Perhaps I am just expecting too much and AWS and other cloud vendors want to keep customers undereducated, relying on courses like this to ensure it.

very good introduction and overview of Redshift architecture, plus very good topic of how we should design and debug. However, the course material is a bit outdated with the example from 2015. For me, it is good enough as I will explore more examples from AWS tutorial and other sources.

Great course overall. However, it is getting outdated if you look at AWS console interface today that has changed quite a lot. Concepts are obviously the same but navigating was sometimes challenging. Explanation is sometimes too fast. Thanks for the supporting materials for each exercise.

The course content is very limited

The course was good. The main problem is it is very old and I didn't know that when I bought it. Lots of things changed since it was created and it should be updated.

Great explanations, barely skips over anything, links more detailed info as well as other usefull study material like articles and case studies. I feel like there could have been more practice labs than theoretical training in order to use more complex Redshift tools, but the quality of the material (theoretical and practical) is excellent

value for money

This is an outdated course and seems like a collection of few YouTube videos material which you can find with simple YouTube search. Though, title and description says that this tutorial is about hands on for Redshift but in reality it is just a normal tutorial which can even be found on AWS document site.
I would have given more star if this course at least would have one important explanation about Redshift process.
I can tell that instructor do have good experience in Big data technology but he couldn't deliver that in this course.
