I found the course very easy to follow and full of good information. I launched a life story videography business recently so was happy to get some new ideas and also recommend the course to people on a budget who may want to do it themselves.

It’s a wonderful beginner’s guide that doesn’t get too heavy into certain lingo, techniques or technologies. Furthermore, he reinforces the idea that we all have stories to tell and we’re all capable of telling them with honor, honesty and respect. The lessons are all broken down in short bite size components which is very helpful. At times though I wish there was more elaboration on certain topics such as lighting and editing.

This course inspires me to start recording memories of elders in my circle of family and friends. As I'm in my mid 70s, Larry's course also motivates me to have someone video interview me! What a wonderful way to leave a legacy for our children, grandchildren and future generations. I enjoyed Larry's passion for family history and for story-telling that moves people and captures meaning and emotion. Larry is caring and empathic; it's easy to see why interviewees would be comfortable with him. His presentation in this course is clear and gentle. He provides all the information, guidance and resources I need to begin capturing memories.

This course offers clear and helpful guidance about how to capture the words, unique personalities, and significant stories shared with us by the people we care about and admire. I found this course encouraging and inspiring. I don't need fancy or expensive equipment to interview, film and edit stories that are truly meaningful and lasting.

Very early in the course to give a fair description, but the concept is very valuable and my mind is already spinning with good good ideas. The mature subjects are a wealth of history and information. Like they said “never go down with your music inside’. My goal is to learn the skills to do a fantastic job at preserving memories of anyone willing to share and leave a legacy of knowledge for the next generations to come. Excellent course on the value of preserving memories and history through the use of storytelling. Having done a number of interviews over the years with various professionals, I found this course valuable and enlightening. Well done and easy to follow with lots of great tips for capturing stories.

This was a very well-presented, thorough and interesting course. Larry is very authentic and I liked the pace of his delivery. The footage of interviews was very touching and his personal stories were inspiring. I think this approach also replies for helping people who are terminally ill to leave a legacy film behind. Nowadays people shoot lots of images & videos of their family members but very few constructs a systematic way to display or share them with members. Larry is giving excellent advice how anybody can do his/her share in preserving the family history of its members, to be enjoyed by future generations. The course is constructed in a manner that encourages and reminds me to get started with preserving my family memories–all you need is your mobile and some very basic knowledge of filming and editing. You can start with family members of old age, but anyone’s memories are worth preserving. I will disseminate and recommend this great course through my family trees and genealogical interest groups and start doing my share in honoring my family memories.

A great course about saving memories. Wonderful tips on interview techniques. So many beautiful clips from Larry's past interviews. This course spurred my interested in speaking with the senior members of my community. It made me aware of how much I am missing. Thank you, Larry, for this heartwarming and informative course.

This course is just what I needed to finish the stories about my family. Great ideas on how to collect stories and photos and videos, like a mini documentary. The best advice I can give is if you have a chance now to start your family stories, do it and don't wait until "someday" The more first hand information the better!
