Course Description

Hey Runners! I am Voider, a professional sound designer from Germany who has created a few commercial bestseller soundsets, themed around my futuristic style. This course will take you on a journey through the very core of a synthesizer, you'll learn about the most important parameters, the modules, the effects, and how it all works together. You will learn the fundamental concepts that'll give you the power to make your imagination come alive and to create your own patches or adjust presets to your taste, to give them your own unique flavour.

Synthesizers are beautiful instruments, in fact the most futuristic and modern instruments we have,
and they offer so much freedom and possibilites unlike anything else, if you understand how to utilize them.

And the best thing is, that all the plugins out there that we incorporate into our musical compositions are based on the very similiar concept of synthesizers. This means that once you've mastered synthesizers, you'll rarely look into the manual of new plugins, because everything makes sense to you naturally.

This course is specifically designed for beginners up to intermediate levels. While I will explain everything from scratch,
you will learn some advanced techniques with many examples as well.

Enroll now, grab a nice drink and load up your synthesizer - we've got sounds to create!

Welcome to the future.

Voider came from the future to gift this timeline with music that draws the feeling of his far dystopian homeworld. Mega-corporate towers conquered the skies and neon lights reflect all over the rainy streets, occupied by AI holograms and advertisement. Technology has become both: a curse and a blessing, depending on where you live and what you can afford. Hidden deep inside the cities exists a whole parallel world, ruled by black markets, gangs and freelance runners who do any job if you pay them with enough credits. Are you up for a run, chummer?

Based on the first part only. Essentially a good solid introduction to using Pigments for analogue synthesis. Some of the explanations are superfluous, eg telling us what octaves and semitones are- everyone knows this. What lets the course down is the Denglisch. Obwohl es meistens gut verständlich ist, ist die Aussprache manchmal etwas schmerzhaft und holprig. Der Kurs wäre bestimmt flüssiger und besser verständlich wenn der Dozent seine Muttersprache verwendet hätte. But of course this would have reduced the potential "customer base" by limiting the course to German speakers. Intrigued to see how the course develops. Despite these quibbles ist der Kurs ohne Zweifel sein Geld wert- sofern ich dies in einem Udemy Sale ergattwt habe.

Amazing course to understand synthesis and a deep dive into Pigments specifically. The first module creating the specific patches common in synthwave/cyberpunk music was the most helpful to me. The rest was a guided tour through Pigments and understanding basic synthesis concepts in a more broad sense. I really liked the teacher's voice and his calm demeanor. Not giving it a full 5 stars because I wish it was more specific to cyberpunk rather than general. I'd like to know more about what makes a good cyberpunk track in practice. Like a walkthrough of how to build out a track starting with the planning, designing the patches, and then arranging the song.

I wasn't totally sure what to expect on this. I have learned more about using modulation in synthesis here in the first thirty or so minutes than in any other sort of course, yet.

This was a geat course about Pigments and sound design in general. I got Pigments and specifically bought this course to get me started, and it was well worth it!

A bit early to evaluate. The reason for the missing star is the level difference between the author's voice and the synth which makes it hard for me to hear what is going on.

If you're new to Pigments, this course will give you a good foundation for its basic features and give you the skills to start working with Pigments in a focused way (rather than just through trial and error). Just be aware that it's a beginner/intermediate course, so some of Pigments' more complicated features, like its sample and harmonic sound engines, aren't covered in detail. But you'll certainly be able to conjure your own patches after this course and, as the instructor recommends, you'll then be able to learn a lot by reverse engineering some of the Pigments presets.

Fantastic course. covered everything I was looking for and much more. I found it well explained and easy to follow. I bought the other 2 Pigments tutorials and would love to see more tutorials from the Author About Drones, dark ambient, futuristic, cyberpunk, industrial glitches etc. Thank you and keep up the awesome, creative works.

The course is extremely practical and it uses my soft synth of choice. Even though of recommend it to any Pigments user, it especially fills in a gap that few bridge, the cyberpunk genre. You learn by doing and then learn the underlying ideas later, which is perfect for the way I learn.

So thorough and helpful! I'm very glad the instructor demonstrates everything AS he explains it. This instructor knows how to fill the learner's mind!

Halfway, and so far pretty happy with the content. Nice overview of features and some deeper dives into the how to use and why. Update after finishing: I would have been happy with just an overview of the various features of Pigments. A lot of sound-design tips were included and the instructor clearly has a lot of experience. Very happy with taking this course.
