Course Description
Welcome! In this tutorial, we will be painting pink roses with watercolor. I chose this subject since many students ask for help while painting with light colors. Often times, their paintings end up becoming muddled or darkened.
In this class, I’ll be showing you how to avoid these mistakes and what we need to focus on for each step.
First, I’ll introduce the watercolor supplies that I used for this class and give an analysis of the reference photo. Then I’ll break down the painting process into 5 steps. I’ll also be explaining how to trace a reference photo for those who might find the sketch difficult to complete on their own.
This is an intermediate level class; however, beginners will also benefit from this class because I will take you to step by step through the entire painting. Also, I’ll upload reference materials for those of you who may need them.
After finishing this class, you’ll be able to master how to paint a pink rose. Then, you’ll be drawing and painting your own pictures in no time.

Amazing Teacher; Clear instructions; Step-by-step demo; although the subject is complex, one can learn by just following the demo; template, and reference photo provided; wonderful experience!!!!! Thank you, Teacher!!!

You-Kyeong, your painting is beautiful and I would be very proud to emulate it. I am really pleased to have signed up to this course and am not disappointed in any way. I am watching it over and over! Thank you for all your tips and patient explanations. I would recommend this lecture ❤️

Wonderful teacher. Explanations clear, camera view and lighting, ditto. I’ve learnt more in ten minutes than I have in hours and years of trying to paint light colored roses. I especially love her voice; and how she takes into account not all students are accomplished artists, without dumbing down the instructions. A difficult (for me) subject made attainable. I’ve been painting all my life (nearly 60 years) and have spent most that time learning “work arounds” for dyslexia/dysgraphia. While that much practice certainly helps, I’ve needed this instructor to master this process. Thank-you Udemy for making it possible.

Yes it was a good match. I watched it carefully. My instructor said she would send the rose picture and supply list. I did not receive that. I’d like to try and paint but need this info.

I found this instructors approach very different for explaining how she composed her painting. I really liked the simplicity of the approach and I enjoying watching her process! I would recommend!

Not for beginners. The subject complicated. Just to transfer the drawing is difficult. Imagine how can be the painting process. This class is for intermediate/advance, for someone with experience with watercolors. She explains well, but doesn't help if you're beginner you just can't do it.

This is really a beautiful and informative class. I recommend this class to Intermediate level painters to improve their skills for painting roses, but I also recommend for beginners who want to enjoy and follow the whole process of a beautiful watercolor painting. You can learn a great deal just by looking the lesson.

This lesson is fun, and educational at the same time. I felt like I could just pick up my brush and start painting. Each step was explained well and simply. Particularly for me, the tracing of the reference photo was the best tip. I now won’t have to worry about the sketching when I decide what to do paint. Thank you so much this class and I really look forward to seeing you in another class!
