I did learn a great deal about JUnit and Mockito from this course, as I am new to both. In terms of critique, I think the course material was laid out well, and the explanations were definitely on point. I did find myself wondering when to use one (JUnit, Mockito, other Runners) over the other, and why. But this might be my own lack of experience, as I also had to look up why/when you would use verify or assert, or both. Overall, I enjoyed the course and look forward to future videos from you!

This course was absolutely outstanding. I have been a java developer for around 20 years and considered my automated testing skills pretty good - but I learned some new things and wish I could make this a required course for all my colleagues!

It's one of the best online courses i've had. Both very informative and fun. The tutor is clearly extremly knowledgeable and experienced. But best of all he still has fun and through his subtly humorous ways Ashley Frieze shows how to see TDD as a source of joy, something to play with.

Short and to the point course covering TDD, BDD, JUnit, Mockito with a lot of runners and library variation including testing of a REST API using Spring Runner. Helps a lot to set the TDD perspective right in place with correct usage of JUnit with Mockito. Highly recommended ! Thanks a ton Ashley.

Good course, good content, good overall coverage of the fundamentals: JUnit, Mockito, Hamcrest, AssertJ, etc. But more than anything, I really appreciate how the instructor took the time to explain the philosophy, whys, and benefits of doing TDD. I also appreciate his demonstration of the TDD work flow. But really, had I not gotten the course, I would've wasted a lot of time by reading random articles and by watching random videos on unit testing and on how to do TDD. I'm really glad that I got this course and it met my expectations. There were some slight sound issues, yes, but it didn't really bother me, however. Anyways, I recommend this course to anyone who wants to get into unit testing and TDD.

It's a very good course with a lot of knowledge about TDD, JUnit and Mockito stuff. I as a Java Web Developer enjoyed it and would love to know more about specific TDD with JUnit and Mockito in Spring REST applications. If there's a course with that kind of content by Mr. Frieze, please let me know. Thanks!

Having been studying and professionally working with JUnit for several years now, this is the most comprehensive, exhaustive, and built up course I've seen. It has finally taught me how to easily apply TDD to building succinctly written code. Thank you!!!

Very good coverage of TDD and reasonably deep dive into JUnit and Mockito. Well presented with good examples and solid advice. Only reason I dropped it half-a-star was due to inconsistent volume between video clips which was a little annoying but the general content is excellent.

The JUnit sections were done very well. I can clearly see how to apply much of it to my own code. The Mockito section seems tacked on. The instructor goes through a lot of technical detail, but implementing it beyond the examples is not as clear. Will probabably go through the section again, to insure I didn't just miss something important.

I think the lecturer is very knowledgeable in unit testing and probably can write books about it. I unfortunately experienced this course more informative than a training course. It is full of stuff that can be used but not really how it can be used. For example in Mockito in more depth the lecturer used the notion of someInterface to demonstrate some Mockito functionality. It was quite difficult to figure out how this all works since it wasn't speaking to some actual code. Remember we are here to learn how to do unit testing as TDD and not to improve current knowledge. Many students have limited experience on this topic and that is why we enroll for this course. I also appreciate the fact that we as programmers have to learn things from scratch and spend time to become more proficient and more efficient performing these tasks. I just think if you could include an example for each section which could be worked through and followed by the student from beginning to end, you'll be able to allow the student to actually follow a more realistic example and maybe use it as a playground/sandbox to try out some things while learning. Maybe at the end off a section the student can complete some outstanding unit tests to gain experience and a feeling off accomplishment. Please don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the course and the lecturer's tone and I think the lecturer is excellent, I just think the course needs a bit more thinking from the lecturer's side.
