Our take
Based on the ratings of 795 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in August 2022. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short course, about 1.9 hours across 25 lectures and five sections, aimed at non-native speakers who already have a B1 level of English and now have to sit in meetings with international teams. Instructor Charmaine Charmoli, with co-instructor Evanie Squires, says she has coached executives for more than 20 years. The core is a block of 13 lectures on six meeting types: strategy, innovation, problem-solving, decision-making, team building and status updates. It is about how meetings work, not about grammar.
Reviewers like the real-time meeting demonstrations and say the scenarios feel close to day-to-day work. One said it felt different from other courses. A Japanese-language reviewer found the six patterns clear and suggested watching once with subtitles, then again without, which is a smart way to use it. Delivery gets friendly marks too. The main complaint comes from a 2-star reviewer who found the same theme repeated, with messages like be prepared and be aware that could have fit in a fraction of the slides. Another reviewer called it good for beginners, though the stated level is intermediate.
Of 795 ratings, 448 are five stars and only nine are one or two stars, for a 4.5 average. The course was last updated in August 2022, so the remote-meeting angle may be a little dated, though meeting structure ages slowly. About 3,080 students have joined, so it is a small course. It suits someone who wants a quick, practical primer before a first international meeting. Anyone who needs speaking practice with feedback will need to pair it with something else.
Pros
- Real meeting demonstrations, so learners hear how a status update or decision meeting actually sounds
- Six meeting types covered in 13 lectures, with tips for the usual shortcomings of each
- Short at 1.9 hours, easy to finish before a first international meeting
- Cross-cultural lectures plus first-hand accounts from employees at global companies
Cons
- Last updated August 2022, so the remote-meeting material is a few years old
- No quizzes or assignments, and one reviewer found the content repetitive
- Needs a solid B1 level of English, so true beginners may struggle to follow
A really good course that feels dynamic to go through, also it has many practical examples.
Listed as intermediate, and the requirements ask for B1 English. Fits working professionals, not true beginners.

It was intriguing to learn about the ways to have the conversations and put forth the ideas in the Business Meetings, while remaining professional. Will definitely input the pointers learned here, in my future presentations and meetings. Thank you, Ms. Charmaine, Evenie & Sabrina. Keep up the good work !

It was different from other courses. Good thing about the course was the real time meeting and training during the meeting.

This was good nature training that didn't shy away from exploring and proposing ways to handle the difficulties of working in a multicultural environment, and with the new normal of remote zoom meetings. I have been using some of these techniques in the past, but learned new ones that I want to try.
