Course Description

This class is a brief introduction to the illustration program Clip Studio Paint (CSP). This class will deconstruct the user interface of CSP to focus on the essential tools needed to start drawing.

This class is aimed at beginners new to Clip Studio Paint, curious artists that want to make the move from PS to CSP, or whoever wants to explore a new program in a quick and easy way.

If you want to make manga, comics, doodles, lineart, paintings, this class will teach you how to set up your canvas and show you the essential parts of the program that will help you get to the hardest part of drawing: making that first brushstroke!

This is not a drawing class, but there will be a class created for that soon. You must have CSP installed. A free trial version is available on their website.I will be making comparisons between PS and CSP, so if you have any questions, please ask them in the spaces below.CSP is a cheaper alternative to Photoshop and Illustrator that often goes overlooked, yet it is just as powerful with a little bit of elbow grease!Who this course is for:
  • Beginner Digital Artists new to Clip Studio Paint
  • Digital Artists looking for cheaper Alternatives to Photoshop Subcscriptions
  • Curious Traditional Artists Transitioning to Digital

Asia is really good at explaining things, she doesn't talk too fast or slow which makes her instructions easy to follow along with.

The course was a pretty solid, basic entry into templates & workspaces for CSP. I have been tinkering around with CSP myself for a little while before taking this course & found a good balance between "Oh I know this part already" and "Cool, I didn't know you could do that" which meant I felt I was learning but not out of my depth.

Now that I have this knowledge under my belt, I'm definitely happy moving onto some drawing courses.

Thanks!

I was looking for the beginner's fundamentals of Clip Studio. I want to learn about the software not the difference between raster and vectors.

Instructor thinks everything is self explanatory, but it isn't for the beginner. I would say this should be a second course. The video presumed that the learner could just follow along with very quick instructions with very little explanation. I wouldn't recommend this course for the beginner.
