Introduction to MikroTik RouterOS (Udemy.com)

Was looking for a general intro to MikroTik. I have a background with Sonicwall, Meraki, Ubiquti/Unifi and others so not a newbie. That said, MikroTik takes something of a different tack from the others so a bit of help to understand the box was required. At a basic level the course was okay but I found the instructor to be inconsistent in presentation. The many typo's made were distracting as was the constant flipping of screens. Background noise was distracting. And it really felt like there was no "structure" to the course. As an example, he could have used a simple real-world scenario, clearly stated, as a way to link what he was doing to some sort of real-world outcome. For example, he could have stated he had a lan with 5 PC's and maybe some sort of hosted service like a VoIP server on the lan and then built the config to match the needs. I am happy that I took the course and even happier that I got the course on sale for $20 as it was worth the money at that price point. It would NOT be worth it at what was listed as the regular price of $120.

Some more information on command line tools would be great since it differs from the Cisco iOS interfaces. A text document with some useful commands such as initial config commands as well as maintenance commands, but other than that the course is well presented and structured.

It was great and i have really learnt a lot with regards to networking an setting up mikrotiks as i'm new in this IT tech world lol

Course had some structure and I appreciated that. What I didn't like were the numerous typos (making the experience repetitive). But so far, the best course I got on MikroTik. Some areas however lack in-depth explanations and were a bit hushed thru. I also appreciated, that you could understand the instructor - no some slang or strange accent hard to get. The audio level of the courses could have been a bit louder.

Quite helpful and good explanations of things good addition is detailed explanation on how to calculate subnets and IP addresses from binary.

The course lacked depth and new concepts are not clearly explained. The course lacked diagrams to explain the what, why and how. (For courses that are excellent in this regard see CCNA by Chris Bryant and Network Fundamentals by David Bombal) IP addressing and subneting was well explained.

Good course on Introduction to RouterOS. A lot of the basics were covered and I have to say that I was glad that I had been working with a MikroTik Router for a year so. That way I already had an understanding of the commands and interfaces. Some of the lectures covered a few of the topics too fast in my opinion so I had to rewind several times to catch what was being presented. If you do not mind a fast pace, background noise and have a basic knowledge then this is a decent course for an introduction to RouterOS

Es interesante todo los puntos que se tocan en el curso, mi observación es que los subtitulos que ponen no son los correctos a veces no son las palabras que dice, es incomodo tener que leer y ver al mismo tiempo y que encima este mal, seria lo mejor que los subtitulos fuesen en español.

I thought the course was beneficial to works using the MikroTik devices for network configurations. I found the in-depth explanation of the sub-netting and/or custom sub-netting to be very informative. If the could be a course with the usages of other MikroTik tools, e.g. Dude, CAPsMAN, Radius Server and User Manager, I would definitely recommend Janco van lingen.

Was a good course for me but I already had a good bit of time working with Mikrotik units. Would have like a longer course to include more on bridging, mesh, ipv4&6, MPLS, OpenFLow, and the in's and out's of routing with mikrotik. All said instructor was knowledgeable even though a little fast paced and the real world examples mentioned are always a big value.
