Course Description
In this course, we'll begin by covering the basics of MongoDB and the key differences between NoSQL and SQL to help you build an intuitive understanding of foundational concepts for the course. This will be followed by engaging practical exercises to help you understand how to use database operations in the Mongo Shell.
You'll then move on to designing your own database to store data for a blogging website, exploring how different data structures can be best-suited to solve different problems depending on the use case.
Finally, we'll move on to data analysis. You'll use filtering, projection, sorting, and querying complex data structures to extract actionable insights from real world datasets. You'll build these skills through a blogging website case study and then apply them on an E-Commerce data analysis challenge.

Overall a good course for introduction to MongoDB. The only negative is there is a lot of repeating stuff.

So far I already have a basic theoritical understanding why many companies would start making use of Mongo DB or similar, NoSQL for their projects due to the many advantages. Also now know how to use MongoDB Compass and make use of Data analysis. All is going great!

The course outline is clear and concise. I like the video presentations balance of information and the length of each video.

Brian, Thanks so much for this great introduction to Mongodb. All your lectures were easy to understand and I was able to code along with you during each lecture. I also enjoyed learning how to use the Compass API and running the queries on it. Please think about adding an intermediate level class so we can teach us on more advanced topics. I look forward to your next MongoDB course.

I have done an "Advanced Data Systems" course in my business intelligence & smart services MSc, where we have used MongoDB. There, we were not explained the basics as thoroughly as in this course and it is a great refresher of all the knowledge with extensive explanations of what's happening in the code.

It is a high quality introductory MongoDB course, but in the end, the knowledge it covers is still a little shallow to me. Hope it could provide more in-depth knowledge with more practical case studies.

A very good and clearly explained introduction to MongoDB (of course, easy to follow for an Oracle db guy like me ;-) ...)

I'm in lection 25 and so far the content is just fine. But the sound level sucks. Sorry, it is too low. I'm used to better standards from this author. Will update when I finished the course.

The course was a very good match, as a Data Engineer I needed some information on NoSQL databases, this was great!

They don't show you how to install the program for windows, they focus only on mac users... That's disappointing because if I wanted to figure out everything on my own I would have just take the Mongo courses for free at https://university.mongodb.com/courses/catalog
