If you need to get a basic understanding of programming quickly and clearly, this is the course for you. We will use real examples of python and java code that you can try on your own. But the content here is applicable to many different programming languages.
This course will teach you the following:
What is programming? And which programming language should I learn?
What is an IDE and how does it help us write code?
How can we use pseudocode to plan a project?
How can I use AI to write, debug, and document code?
Using print statements to produce output to the console
Understanding errors and how to effectively debug code
How can I use basic arithmetic operators and variables in my code?
How can I use Git and GitHub for collaboration and version control?
Usage of conditional statements such as if/else
Using Switch statements to evaluate multiple conditions without multiple if/else statements
How to use arrays to contain multiple values
Creating loops and functions to carry out repeated tasks
As a bonus, this course now also includes an introduction to Python!
Are you brand new to Python? Are you a beginner programmer? Have you found that many of the training resources out there use complex technical jargon that make it difficult to understand the basic concepts? If you need to get a working knowledge of Python quickly and clearly, this is the course for you.
This course answers the questions:
How do I install Python and start writing code using Anaconda and Jupyter Notebook?
What are the key skills that I must have to write basic Python code?
How do I use print functions, loops (while, for), variables, and conditional (else/if) statements in my code?
What are common errors and how can I easily test and debug my code?
I have taught hundreds of thousands of students across a variety of platforms, and I think anyone who needs to understand programming will love this course. Most lectures in this course are 5 - 10 minutes long. This course gives you an understanding of the most critical knowledge areas of programming.

An excellent course to learn the basics of programming in an easy-to-understand format. I particularly liked the examples provided as well as the analogies comparing the coding example to real life scenarios. This course is great first step into working toward a career in programming.

Course was great, and well explained for a non-technical person! I really liked the way course content kept building up: instructor started with the very basics, and then gradially added more stuff piece by piece. It was very easy to keep up, thank you. :)

Coming back to coding after a long hiatus. This crash course was extremely helpful to jog memory on terminology and the basics. Even from a completely beginner point of view, the instructor makes things very easy to understand with a mix of real-life examples and practical coding so the student can understand the concept fully.

Rick's introduction was very helpful for someone who has never programmed before. His method of introducing different code languages and his analogies for explaining things made it easier to follow along and understand his teachings.

Really liked the method of teaching followed by Rick Crisci. This is a good beginner course for people starting to learn programming especially python. Liked the concept of traps explained in between the course. Overall, very good course. Will definitely enroll in more courses from Rick.

The coarse is good and the instructor was GREAT. There was alot of info that was not completely explained and not given reason for some of the commands purpose. For instance, why and what words can we use and when do we use words, other than int, if , else or print.

I'm a newbie in terms of programming and this course was very good for people that never even worked with programming before. Thank you Rick for putting this course together! This was very helpful! I would recommend this for people that really need a starting foundation on programming. There are concepts that will be needed to understand independently of what language you decide to learn/work so, this is a very good start.

Well, I actually have been programming for about 7 years. For those of you who are curious, I use the basic LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and the front-end 5 (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, BootStrap, JQuery). Frustrated with the job market, I also trained in C# for video games, a little Python, a little Java, a little Ruby, some WordPress, and started going back to college. I just got to the "Jack of all Trades" trap video, and that rung a serious bell. This guy is spot on. I didn't even see it but he's absolutely right. I'm that Jack of all trades kind of guy. So this helped me realize what I need to do from here. Absolutely a 5 star.

This course was great for a crash course in programming basics and I would recommend it to new programmers. There were a few videos (More about Variables and Errors, for example) where the instructor indicated they were putting input and getting output, but you couldn't see it in the video. The Trap sections were informative, but felt like they broke the logical flow between some of the topics.

Hi Rick, this introdcutory course on Programming was excellent, I always found the sticky points in programming was seeing a gigantic code block and not understanding what was going on, now that the fundamentals of loops, recursion, arrays, errors, debugging was simplified in your training course, I began to relaise that the code in the program was a combination of these smaller fundamentals, but key to all of this now after watching, is no more procrastinating and more practicing! ps. you repeated the 'Jack of All Trades' in video 10 as well as in video 12. God Bless you and Thank you.
