Course Description
Welcome to the course Operating systems Part 2 : Memory Management Masterclass !!!
Mastering the concepts of Operating Systems is very important to get started with Computer Science because Operating System is the program which is responsible for the ease with which we are able to use computers today to solve our problems by writing application programs like Google Chrome. The concepts which we are going to study is going to give a very good understanding of Operating System like what are the allocation strategies used by Operating Systems , what are the memory management strategies used by Operating Systems , paging in operating systems, page replacement in operating systems, , how paging works in operating systems , how segmentation works in operating systems , how virtual memory works in operating systems , how multilevel paging works in operating systems , how CPU executes a process using memory manager.
Without using Operating Systems ,it is extremely difficult to communicate with the hardware devices of our computer. Every computer today has an Operating System installed in it. Through this course you will not only master Operating Systems but also get ready for venturing into advanced concepts of Computer science
In this course ,every concept of Operating Systems is taught in an easy-to-understand manner such that anybody who has basic knowledge of operating systems like scheduling, devices in out computer, how a process is created etc. can understand this course well.
Come and join me, I assure you that you will have the best learning experience of not just Operating Systems but also the core of Computer Science in a different dimension.

The content and delivery is better than expected. Truth be told I did struggle with the accent and cadence of Signesh's speaking, but playing it at 0.75x with subtitles helped quite a bit. Overall it is MUCH easier to absorb than the material from my University.

Concepts are explained clearly to the root level, though there are many repetitions it is needed to explain these concepts in depth. Overall instructor has good knowledge on the subject and the pace and the manner the concepts are explained, it makes it easier to follow and understand.

Excellent courses. They give a good overview of how operating system and hardware work. These are purely theory based courses, you don't see a computer screen yet this just means you can concentrate on the concepts being taught. Well worth the money.

All the concepts are easy to understand. A lot of problems to solve, some of them are really challenging, and they allow you to really remember and understand the concepts. On the flip side - this part is much more repetitive than OS part 1, sometimes it was boring to listen to the same concept in the same words for the 10th time. Other than that - it's a great course series and I highly recommend it.

So basically, this was my third course with Vignesh Sir as mentor. I am really delighted to choose this series of Operating system. This course has all that features which an ideal course generally have. Now I have that level of trust on sir that, I really don't need to look at the syllabus of the course again and again from any book or online website.

This course is about memory management, especially the concept of paging. You will learn EVERYTHING about paging. As usual, Mr Vignesh Sekar takes his time to explain the concepts in great detail and he makes sure you understand it with a lot of examples (+ discussion about pros and cons about each concept). Some people find it too repetitive, but I think repetition is the mother of all learning. Overall, this is a very good course and I recommend it to everybody that want to learn this specific topic. Keep up the good work Mr Vignesh Sekar and maintain your enthusiasm.

The instructor's peculiarity is the ability to explain complex topics in simple and clear way, repeatedly returning to the already completed material and repeating the main aspects. The instructor's aim is not to load you with a bunch of new information, he very intuitively dwells on complex topics and sometimes even explains in too much detail. In the case of operating systems, this technique is absolutely justified!

I have already finished parts one and two of the series and now I'm in the middle of part three. I'm very pleased with the course and the instructor. Without watching the series, I would probably fail "Operating Systems" course in university because my instructor talks very fast and assumes everyone in the class works in the field of low level programming for years so I'm unable to understand most of the material. Vignesh is a great instructor. If you take "Operating Systems" course and struggle to understand, I would highly recommend this course.

I am Mattia Mellone, an italian student at Politecnico di Bari. With this review, I really want to thank the teacher and all his work with the OS courses, here on Coursera. Thanks to this course (I have followed all the 3 different modules) I had the chance to pass the OS exam at my university at the very first try. Just for your knowledge: the OS exam in my degree course is one of the most difficult exams of the entire degree! So, thank you kindly for all you have done til now, I will recommend your courses to all my friends and colleagues! Best regards, Mattia Mellone

I really enjoyed this course. Instructor made it seems like he is standing there and wouldn't leave the screen until the concepts gets into your head. So much engaging and wherever he says, we will see this later. He make sure you will. I totally recommend.
