Investing The Lazy Investor Way (Udemy.com)

As an investor beginner, this course was just pure perfection. I love the way this teacher explain each section. As someone who's first language is not english, it was super easy to follow. This my second complete investing course and i have to say that it was hands down my favorite mainly attributed to the teacher. I now want to learn way more. Happily giving a 5 stars rating.

Some of the lessons here overlapped with lessons from Steve's Passive Income Investing And Side-Gig Mastery. I would have been fine just studying one of the two.

So much information in this course, I have learned so much. I will make sure to go check his other courses as he makes everything so easy to understand. I will make sure to review this course again as there is so much information pack in this class. As a beginner, I found this course to be very clear and easy to follow. I will make sure to open a stock account just to play with the fundamentals that he teaches in this course. Thank you very much for everything and good luck.

What an incredible amount of valuable information this course has. This is exactly what I needed to start investing. One more thing: Even though English is not my mother language and he speaks really fast, I did not have any problems understanding the concepts and ideas he explained because he did it in an easy way and really speaking out every word. Thanks so much for everything!

Would have been 5 stars if the instructor was actually answering questions. They have not been answered for a year. I hope nothing has happened to Steve. There was a bunch of overlap with his other courses. I have done 3 so probably to be expected. There was some unique new things like Folio and Motif investing, also more about asset allocation and different kinds of portfolios and how you could approach constructing them/how this changes risk (not what I thought) My biggest beef is not addressing students outside the US (and not answering questions about this) None of the demos and example sites accept investors from outside the US and there were no alternatives discussed. For instance - how do I buy funds or stocks through another site? "Go see a broker" just does not cut it. Where do I even start? Still a great overview and understanding of a complex topic and I gained a lot of insight

Although I had exposure to the Lazy Portfolio philosophy via MarketWatch and Bogleheads, I gained some valuable insight into the strengths and weaknesses of various implementations offered via key brokers and robo-advisory services. I appreciate the manner in which Mr. Ballinger laid out the options such that i can compare and make informed choices in constructing a long-term investment strategy.

Great introduction to beginner investors. Although the examples may not be directly applicable to non-US-based audience, the thought behind is really valuable. It helps to evaluate available investment tools from anywhere. It could be better to put more details in the slides, which makes taking notes and reviewing easier. In sections with a long list of items, separating the items shown on slide or highlighting the one currently in the speech would help audience to follow the story line.

Excellent course. Great for the complete beginner and very good way to get the basics down even if you want to be a more active investor instead of a "Lazy Investor". I used this course as a bridge for more advanced topics and courses. The instructor is fantastic, and really keeps you engaged. A lot of other courses are monotonous and boring at parts, but I really enjoyed every single lecture on this course. The only thing I felt that was missing was a quick overview on bonds as well as dividends (such as dividend reinvestment plans). I felt like it was assumed that we know what those are and how they work, so a little detail would be great. I did purchase two other courses from Steve and it looks like the explanations might be in there, so I look forward to learning more!

I learned so much in this course. I pretty much knew nothing about investing before this course. I am grateful there's someone like Steve willing to teach a course to people who would otherwise keep getting the same advice from financial planners/brokers...invest with them. This is exactly the course I needed to get started myself. I would have liked a little info on when to invest (dollar cost averaging vs. lump sum) and more info on how to look at basic market data. I'm also still confused about index funds and the "tracking" of index funds. More next steps and other course ideas would have been welcome as well. Overall, I liked it and thanks Steve!

I enjoyed this course and wish something like it was around when I started investing 20+ years ago. I think before a person starts investing, whether on their own and/or with a company 401k, for example, they should start with this course as a first stepping stone to give them a basis or frame of reference of thinking about investing. I do have one suggestion. Even for a Lazy Investor, one should be aware of trends or cycles. There may be times to adjust one's portfolio more conservatively in a down market or when uncertain economic news or events become available before a major down turn, e.g., 2008/2009 correction. Why? Recouping losses can take time; and TIME is our most precious asset!
