Course Description

Hi there!

Thanks for checking out this course. So, everyone seems to be talking about how to develop Ionic apps, but no one ever seems to really talk about HOW TO DESIGN IONIC APPS!

You might end up learning all the development principles for Ionic (and that is great), but most of these course only teach you things like, how to create a to-do-list and other similar apps, but don't really teach you design!

This course is NOT focused on teaching you how to DEVELOP Ionic apps, BUT rather, HOW TO DESIGN ionic apps.

This course will cover the following:

  • How to create an Intro / Welcome Slider
  • How to use Google Fonts in your Ionic Apps
  • How to setup Font Awesome in your projects
  • How to design Attractive Login Pages
  • How to create Video Streaming Pages for YouTube and Vimeo
  • How to create Parallax Images for your Apps
  • Creating Automatic Sliders
  • How to create Side Menu Pages
  • Plus a host of other cool things along the way!

If you are wanting to increase your Ionic knowledge, then join me on this journey and let's get started!

Tinashe Munyaka

I started my own business over 11 years ago. My name is Tinashe Munyaka and I am a serial entrepreneur.

I love development and started off a few years back as a web developer, within this time I fell in love with design and focused my attention more on digital designs. Being a young entrepreneur, and in the beginning of my career, I was then afforded the opportunity to lecture for 2 years at a local university, lecturing 1st and 2nd year students. I then relinquished this role to focus more on growing my business as the lecturing was taking its toll on me.

A few years passed and I opened up my 3rd company that focuses on mobile applications development, specifically, iOS and Android development. During this stage we managed to developed numerous mobile applications as well as code snippets that we've also sold to other upcoming developers.

Of recent, over the past year, I started mentoring other developers as well as starting up an academy that teaches people mobile application development as well as design.

I'm always constantly striving to learn new concepts, technologies and ideas, and therefore, I'd like to always refer to myself as: A lover of anything creative!

I enjoyed spending the afternoon taking this course. I learned some new things about Ionic design and development. The instructor seems very helpful although I felt most everything he explained was understandable. Version 4 of the Ionic software is out and some of the functions used n this lesson series are outdated (basically they have the word "Cordova" in front of them) so this course is about the history of Ionic, how we used to do things in version 3 but still a useful afternoon for me. Thanks!

Originally upset that I missed the "design" in the title of the course and it had no development aspect, but this was an extremely helpful course. You taught me sooo much about ionic and design principles. My current job is a server side java developer, so this stuff was very refreshing and well put together. Thank you, Jordan

A very good course. Please Sign up for it. The reason I gave 4 is because the font of the screen is too small. I had to strain my eyes to see what is going on. I would advise you zoom in to your lessons for subsequent lessons. Otherwise, this is a brilliant course.

For a start, this is Ionic 2, or at least old Ionic 3. Covers styling an Ionic App through CSS more than anything else. Pitty, as the outcome application won't work "as is" in a horizontally rotated device, or in a device with different screen size than the size of the images provided. Some Components (now called Directives...) are used, but not explained in detail. To be fair, the instructor mentions on the presentation that his aim is not to explain how to code in Ionic/TS, but following through is difficult as the structure is not very clear and the examples are not updated to the last Ionic release. As this advance is difficult, one ends up simply copying and pasting the example provided code, but this is not really the best way to learn IMHO. Yes, I've learnt something new, but nothing that I couldn't learn somewhere else TBH.

This course is a rare 6 out of 5 stars! It's a really good source of ideias and knowledge, but have two minors technical issues: the source code font size is too small and there is no available source code to download after each video there is only the full finished project to download that's why I will give only 4 stars. But I strongly recommend this course within the proposed subject.

Great course and one of the very few that covers on the design aspect and not the technical coding. And because it's purely focussing on the design, I believe in terms of code wise, it's being compromised. For instance, when come to the ionic pages, the better approach is to use lazy loading, and not importing every pages into the module.

Very useful course. I really wish to see more of this type of courses to be published by the author. You are correct, other courses only focus on the technology and development aspect, this course take the design aspect into consideration as well, very informative.

This course was amazing. Now I have a strong base to design a mobile app with Ionic. The instructor was also there to answer questions whenever needed. I recommend this course to anyone willing to learn or improve his design skills with Ionic. Cheers!

É claro, preciso e conciso nas suas explicações...os modelos usados para o ensino da linguagem são excelentes e ele vai além, mostrando detalhes na customização. Muito bom o curso...até agora, o melhor curso de ionic 3 do site.

By Ron Miller on 6/25/2017

This is a great course on Ionic3 design. It is not a development course, it sticks to design which is exactly what I wanted. I am very happy I took the course, I feel like it was a leap forward for me and I'm ready to jump right into my first project. The instructor knows the subject and is very good at explaining the topics in detail.
