Even though i would not say right away that i am able to say the sound but this has been really helpful, and overwhelming at the same time because they are words that I am thinking i will never use but i learned about them today

Having made it halfway I confirm my earlier review that the short, logically spaced and grammatically similar lessons make it much easier to learn and absorb. Looking forward to the next half! (I'm not always able to comply with the reminder but it's good to have a nag reminder set!)

the one quiz question's multiple choice options did not include the correct answer. Another question's answer had not been covered in the proceeding course slides. Also it would be nice if the Xhosa words or expressions were broken down into the English meaning and how there word could be changed then to have slightly different meanings.

Absolutely love this learning experience, it is fun and very informative. There are some struggles with the clicking sounds but nothing this course will not help me overcome. Thank you

There were some useful expressions taught and I enjoyed the inclusion of the cultural information at the beginning. However, I have given this course a low rating because I don't think that the way in which it was set out is effective, especially for memory retention. I have learned Korean as a native English speaker and all my beginner lessons centered on a particular grammar point so one learnt from the start how the language is constructed. This course was more about parrot learning sentences which doesn't give one a fundamental understanding of the language and is easy to forget.

The videos didn't really add much to my understanding as he just read through and answered the phrases/words. But I did still grasp some understanding. I wish the grammar of the language was explained more as well as how the words are built - in terms of it being an agglutinative language. Otherwise it was helpful that they gave ebooks for long-term reference.

I have to do Xhosa as part of my teaching degree, I was struggling to understand the work, so go this course as a supplementary (extra) and I understand the work a lot better and can start to speak the language!

The lecturer for this beginners course was great and I really enjoyed the revision exercises before attempting the quizzes. I highly recommend this course to people wanting to learn basic conversational isiXhosa.

I am thoroughly enjoying this. There are many many phrases to learn and I think it is going to take a while to know them well, but it is fun to get something right.

I did one course of isiXhosa in 2015 during university. This is a good recap of everything that I have studied so far. This is helping to increase my vocab and understand tenses and simple grammar.
