Course Description
Managing a million-dollar IT or software project budget is one of the most critical—and commonly misunderstood—skills in IT project management. This course gives you practical, step-by-step training on how to build, track, forecast, and control a real-world IT project budget from initiation through financial closeout.
This is not a construction or theory-based course. Everything you learn here comes from real job experience managing large-scale technology budgets, vendor contracts, and software development projects.
Whether you’re an aspiring IT project manager, a PMO analyst, a new program manager, or someone transitioning into project management, this course will help you confidently manage IT project finances, cost estimations, vendor spend, and budget reporting—skills that employers value highly.
Why This Course?
With 40+ lectures and over 5 hours of content, this is one of the most comprehensive and practical IT budgeting courses available on Udemy. Every section includes downloadable templates, tools, and resources, so you can immediately apply what you learn.

Best instructor with the best example! I found myself actually keeping up with the calculations and making predictions as to what needed to be reallocated. I feel confident that I could manage a large-scale project one day.

Good content with examples. Course covers cost management for waterfall. Daniel it will be great if you can add one session for any PMO tool to show how it works using tool which you shown in excel and if you can cover Agile (which trending now) as well in this or in some other course

Excellent course on cost management and budgeting. I did think that the information was covered quickly though and I had to go back and rewind a few times to make sense of the material. But I thought that this was a great overview. The instructor, Dan was great and I plan to take more courses from him.

Very interesting and practical course. Daniel answered all the questions I asked in a short time. Some issues that could be considered: 1) It would be very useful to have a summary document describing the steps that are carried out with excel files. 2) Sometimes the Excel files do not follow a correct sequence, what I mean is that sometimes the Excel file shown in a lesson is one group of processing steps behind that shown in previous lessons. 3) I did not find a resource on lesson 20 regarding earned values.

Course is well structured and giving more clear picture on how to manage project budget and main key components. Course provides deep explanations explanation of SPI/CPI on the real cases and its exceptions. Would be cool to see in bonus sections a review of top popular tools used for IT budgets and costs management.

Excellent course! Daniel shares his experience by explaining how cost and change controls using eay to follow examples and templates. I really liked his explanation of how SPI/CPI could be interpreted in the real world for a variable cost project. I would suggest to him limit the intro/outro animations to just to the section start/end and not to every lesson. Thank you Daniel.

This was a very good course with thorough spreadsheet examples on budgeting and cost management. I would recommend it to others that have questions or need a refresher on this topic.

I took this course to prep for a big interview and I found it to be an excellent, practical review of a project budget from start to finish. The course was paced really well and the presentation was excellent plus the resources will help me with the next project I run. My only constructive feedback was the editing was a little rough in places. I'd rather have this level of content than a slick production that didn't have the depth of this course. Will def look for more courses from Daniel in the future.

Meet my requirement and expectations. Very good examples and practicals shown. The only thing I miss in online course is we have one way communications.
