Course Description
When I started software engineering, I always wanted to code without any configurations, version control or build server configurations. Later, I realized that coding is just one part of software engineering: architectural designs, design patterns and the ability to write reusable and loosely coupled software components are much more important parts of programming.
In this course we are going to talk about the basics of professional software engineering such as how to separate the code into multiple modules or how to use a build framework to build the final application for us.
Before developing the final application from scratch - that wire all the included technologies together - we will consider these technologies on a one by one basis.
In the first section we are going to consider Maven, one of the most popular build frameworks out there. The second chapter is about Java Persistence API and database related problems. The third chapter will cover Spring as far as the XML based configuration is concerned, then we will talk about the new way: the so-called Spring Boot. Finally, we are going to implement an application in which we are going to use all the technologies we have discussed.

Holczer Balazs
My name is Balazs Holczer. I am from Budapest, Hungary. I am qualified as a physicist. At the moment I am working as a simulation engineer at a multinational company. I have been interested in algorithms and data structures and its implementations especially in Java since university. Later on I got acquainted with machine learning techniques, artificial intelligence, numerical methods and recipes such as solving differential equations, linear algebra, interpolation and extrapolation. These things may prove to be very very important in several fields: software engineering, research and development or investment banking. I have a special addiction to quantitative models such as the Black-Scholes model, or the Merton-model.
Take a look at my website if you are interested in these topics!

O curso é bastante interessante, cobre topicos importantes sobre desenvolvimento de aplicações web com Java, Spring boot, Maven e Vaadin para criar aplicações completas e bem estruturadas. Até agora o curso está a atingir as minhas expectativas.

This is my first experience with Udemy and I am fully satisfied! The course covers many topics and for this I recommend a solid preparation in Java! I suggest, even if "deprecated", com.vaadin.v7. * To have full compatibility with Vaadin 8. Congratulations Holczer Balazs!

Strong to Hard-core course. For beginner in Java, Hibernate&Co, Vaadin, and before all beginners in Maven, this will be difficult. But the course really starts from the basics, and explains from the very beginning, and going through all steps required with precisions. So "Zero to Hero" is correct for this course, but you will not achieve it without pains or headheake. Few times you may need to go to the completed sourceCode to verify and find out what you may have been missing. A few google search are also required, especially to initialize eclipse or wildfly. Thanks Holczer Balazs.

This course is really helpful specially by explaining the real world application. One thing could be added to make it more interesting is keeping this course update. Using latest maven and spring packages and addons helps developers to build up a better and more intuitive desing apps.

The course is really well structured and it has everything you need to know to create a web app using Vaadin with Springboot. The explanations are complete and really easy to understand. It goes without saying that this is not a beginners course, as know java is required to follow the course. The chapter on JPA is also really good.

The best course I have ever had , and I already had over 30 courses on udemy. I improved my understanding of maven ,spring, and learned vaadin. its about 18 hours but the amount of information is massive. The instructor also talks about design patterns , best coding practices. The final project is great and will teach you alot .

This is a great course. I really learned a lot. Minus half star is because the inconsistency between videos. One file is finished in one video and then in second one it shows up modified without notification to the student. Everything else is really good - excellent. Keep up the good work.

he speaks a little too fast, and his english is a little bad... but the steps and explanations are easy to follow and everything worked smoothly half way edit : the same.. it's a little tricky to write the examples as he explains them, because he doesn't wait at all. Some things didn't work as in his examples.. due to various reasons. Like: deploying a spring app to wildfly server

It's an excellent and awesome Workshop, how to use Spring Boot together with Vaadin !!! A masterpiece! This will increase my business portal as well. Also, it would be great, how to manage this seminar with Netbeans IDE as well. Thank you!
