Very good!

I like it actually. Easy to follow, I just would like to have some interactivity to learn better, but that is a limitation of the platform, not the course.

I purchased this course one day ago and I am only on chapter 4, but I am really enjoying it. I have a little bit of HTML and PHP knowledge, but am a total newbie to Javascript. The videos are clear and the exercises are interesting. I will update this as I progress. UPDATE...THROUGH CHAPTER 8 I just finished chapter 8 of 10 and I have really learned a lot by taking this course. I think I am hooked on Udemy and Mark's classes. Everything I knew about programming was by playing around with PHP in WordPress and asking questions on Stackoverflow and Stackexchange. Even though this class is an introduction to Javascript it has given me a much better understanding programming in general which has helped me understand the way PHP works in WordPress. I have already started putting this to use in my business Getridofit.com and I can't wait to learn more. I will do a final update when I finish the course.

Very Elementary concepts.. I can find the info presented in these courses at tons of different websites for free. JS is a very powerful and complicated language. This course doesn't present a good overview of what JS is capable of doing, what it's strong parts are and it's weak parts are. Instead it goes go on and on about how to do if - statements, while - loops and whatnot. All and all it was a total of time and $ for me. I'd advise inquisitive people who wanna learn code to go to youtube and search for some tutorials there if you're a beginner. Or some Google Talks if you wanna learn about the advanced aspects of JS.

This was a solid introduction to JavaScript. I've tried to learn from just text (ie., w3Schools etc) in the past but it just didn't take. A previous reviewer mentioned YouTube or whatever but the fact is that there is a major diference between videos that just anybody who knows javascript is putting out and videos that are assembled by a profesional trainer that are supplemented with thoughtful labs and exercise. If you know HTML and you want to learn JavaScript and if video is the right delivery method for you (it is for me) then this is the right course.

I really enjoyed this course and found Mark's teaching top notch. His explanations and teachings throughout the chapters stayed consistent and very helpful. I would highly recommend this course to anyone starting out in front- end development. What I really want is a follow-up to this course where Mark dives into more advanced and powerful uses within JS. What do you say Mark?

I have taken other Javascript training via in-class and online. I'm not a developer, so programming doesn't come naturally. This one gave me a better understanding of Loops and Arrays than any of the other training that I have taken, in a shorter amount of time. The labs are great. I recommend it

Very funny way to start coding by myself. I have a business background, and 0 expertise in programming, but since I own an internet statup, this course has helped me to speak the same language than my programmers. Thanks Mark.

I'm a relative newb to JavaScript. I have bought books and had several runs at learning it over the past 10 years. This course accelerated my understand of concepts that had confused me for years.......and it did it in days Lots of context, clear explanations, challenging but doable lessons and shortcuts and advice. Great value course with a fantastic teacher. Thanks

I found this course when I saw an introductory video of an Ajax course and found Mark Lassoff very easy to listen to with interesting and easy to follow content. I started the Ajax course then realised, after a few lessons (it had been stated before I purchaed) that I needed a grounding in Javascript to get the full benefit. I then purchased Mark's Javascript for beginners and enjoyed every minute of it. My last real programming had been on 8bit machines many years ago. I fouund Mark's relaxed style a real benefit and his instructions were clear and to the point, thanks Mark. Though I still have lots to learn about Javascript I now feel confident enough to move back to the Ajax course and look forward to completing more advanced courses in time.
