Course Description

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Complete Kotlin Course: Zero to Job-Ready!

My name is Andrey Sumin.

This course is for anyone who wants to learn Kotlin—a modern language used to build Android apps, create server-side applications, and work on multiplatform projects. It’s designed so you can start from scratch, even with no prior programming experience. Not just the basics—we’ll dive into the language’s nuances and practice hands-on, so by the end you’ll be fully prepared for a Kotlin interview. Throughout the course, you’ll complete practical assignments and projects that reinforce each topic and help you build real development skills.

I wish you success in mastering Kotlin—may you gain new knowledge and the inspiration to conquer the world of programming! See you in the course!

Why Kotlin?
Because it’s a modern language with official support from Google. Designed with lessons from dozens of other languages, Kotlin keeps the best practices and removes unnecessary complexity. Code is shorter and clearer, and writing in Kotlin is fast and convenient. Built-in null-safety and a modern concurrency model with coroutines improve application stability and safety. Plus, it’s fully compatible with Java and the JVM ecosystem, so you can leverage existing libraries and familiar tools without extra hurdles. Most importantly, Kotlin has strong prospects: active development, broad industry support, and high market demand.

Instructor Details

Andrey Sumin

Hi! I’m Andrey Sumin. I came into programming from retail, so I remember what it’s like to start from zero—doubts, new terms, and all. I’m now a Senior Android Developer at Kaspersky Lab, I write Android libraries and tooling, and I’ve been teaching Kotlin and Android for six years.

In my courses we move from simple to complex—no leaps—cover both the “why” and the “how,” and reinforce every topic with hands-on practice. I aim for depth and lead you there gradually, so you gain confidence and understand why things are done the way they are.

If you have no programming experience, you’ll find everything you need here to enter the profession. If you’ve already worked with Kotlin or another language, you’ll find plenty to structure and deepen your knowledge. My goal is that after the course you can read and write production code with confidence and feel prepared for interviews. Welcome!

I'm sorry, but the tutor doesn't seem very enthusiastic about teaching. Overall, though, the experience is still good.

By Andreas John on 5/18/2026

Inhaltlich ist der Kurs nicht schlecht, aber die Sprachqualität ist super schlecht, zu schnell und zu unklar.

By Iosifidis Ilias on 3/23/2026

The course is good and covers all the basic and advanced topics. Unfortunately the code is so complex at times, he is changing the existing code so much that at some point i couldn't follow. I've had a bug, i couldn't track it, and i couldn't finish parts of the course. He doesn't provide any Github repository for this scenario. I can't explain it better, but he is fixating of some examples of code that he made, and forgets to explain the concepts cleanly. So i've been left with a malfunctioning code, and no idea what an Observer, BlockingQueue, Command and Builder actually are The accent is a minus as well

The instructor understands the subject well and explains it in a very simple way. Furthermore he selects examples from daily life which makes learning engaging and interactive.

By Md Khairul Enam Adib on 3/4/2026

Very detailed and easy to follow through explanation with exercises that actually helps understand the concepts. Well structured videos, very good course

By Khalid AIT MOUNA on 2/3/2026

This is a well-structured course with an excellent methodology. I really hope you create a Jetpack Compose course in English as well. Thank you again!

By Dinara Stepina on 1/23/2026

Glad that one of my favorite Android content creators is going global! Decided to deepen my Kotlin knowledge this year and started with his latest Kotlin course along with some books, and I really like the way Andrey explains even the most complex topics (as a self-taught coder, I appreciate this a lot lol). Recommended both for complete beginners and for those who want to learn about advanced things such as OOP and multithreading

By Bernard Atelšek on 12/4/2025

A very well-prepared and well-structured online course. It covers all advanced topics in depth: functional programming, design patterns, unit testing, advanced data structures, coroutines, and the specifics of the Kotlin language. Now we just need an Android (Jetpack Compose) course in English.

By Bismarck Sylne on 11/28/2025

The professor is really great at explaining things in easy to understand terms and examples! He goes over many concepts that you might have overlooked as a programmer. Also, his way of explaining advanced concepts is really great.

By Arthur Smith on 10/13/2025

It's very easy for a beginner to understand. I liked the presentation of information in the animation format.
