Launch Your Startup Without Code – Build an App in 1 Day (Udemy.com)

Build an app and launch your online business in no time using Figma, Adalo, Zapier, and Airtable

Created by: Sebastian Hoffmann

Last updated December 2021

Our take

Based on the ratings of 161 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in December 2021. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is a short tour of no-code tools for getting a startup idea in front of real users. Sebastian Hoffmann, a product leader who has founded online businesses, walks through validating an idea, sketching in Figma, building in Adalo, taking payments with Stripe and wiring things together with Zapier. It runs 2.1 hours across 47 lectures, and the build section is the biggest chunk at about an hour. The audience list is wide, but it really suits non-technical founders and product people who want a first working version.

Reviewers like the pace. They call it straight to the point, practical and easy to follow, and one non-technical founder says it let them build an MVP for a fraction of the cost of hiring someone. The complaints are specific, though. One reviewer says some sections are light, pointing at a Mailchimp lecture that only shows how to sign up. Another wanted reference material for details like app logo size. A 2025 one-star review calls the course old and says it needs an update.

The last update was December 2021, and that 2025 reviewer wants the course removed for being out of date, so check that the tools still look the way the lectures show them. Still, 137 of 161 ratings are four or five stars. Treat it as a quick overview that helps with picking tools and getting a prototype going, not a full build course. If you want depth, plan on each tool's own documentation next.

Best forNon-technical founders who want a quick, practical map of no-code tools for building and testing an MVP.
Skip it ifYou want up-to-date screens or real depth on any single tool, not a fast first pass across many.

Pros

  • Short enough to finish in an evening, at 2.1 hours over 47 lectures
  • Reviewers call it practical and straight to the point, like following a recipe
  • Covers the whole chain: validation, Figma design, Adalo build, Stripe payments, Zapier automation
  • One non-technical founder says they built an MVP for far less than hiring a developer

Cons

  • Last updated December 2021, and a 2025 reviewer calls it outdated
  • Some lectures are thin, such as a Mailchimp one that only covers signing up
  • Reviewers want reference material and concrete examples for publishing to the app stores
Brilliant course. Straight to the point and very practical. As a non-technical founder, I have been able to build an MVP for a fraction of the cost of hiring or outsourcing....couldn't have asked for anything better.

Pretty good intro to no-code with Adalo. Some of the sections feel a little light -- "Intro to Mailchimp for Audience Building" isn't really helpful, for instance; it literally teaches you how to sign up for mailchimp. All in all, good but brief.

Can you show a example where instead of country you use Cabin Number. I want the user to enter his cabin number while registering.

By Kevin Ooi on 5/13/2020

Easy to follow and well paced but some of the features could have been explored in more detail. Best to have an idea of what to work on so that you can dive straight in while exploring the features of the various resources available. Audio could be clearer.

This is super helpful for my current job as a product manager. Rapid prototyping allows me to validate hypotheses with our customers in no time. Really enjoyed this hands-on course

By Eyan Chan on 3/18/2020

This course is awesome! It covers all the relevant steps to create my own app. As I'm exploring new ways to sell my products, building my own app was my goal but I couldn't afford the development. Now I can do it myself! Very informative and great value for money. Thanks, Sebastian :)
