Course Description
Lean management helps teams remove waste, improve flow and focus effort on the work that creates value. In this course, you will learn how to assess an operation, select practical Lean tools and lead improvements that can be sustained by the people doing the work.
The course explains the principles behind Lean before moving into practical application. You will learn how to distinguish value-added from non-value-added activity, identify the eight wastes and examine how work, information and materials move through a process. Process-mapping and quality tools help you make problems visible and prioritise improvement opportunities.
You will also explore techniques for organising physical and digital workplaces, improving production and operational flow, and involving colleagues in continuous improvement. Rather than applying every Lean tool to every problem, you will learn how to choose an approach that fits the process, the evidence and the result required.
A detailed case study shows how Lean management can be introduced in a real organisation. Practical examples and activities help you adapt the ideas to your own team, department or process while considering implementation, engagement and control.
By the end of the course, you will be able to diagnose waste and flow problems, design a focused Lean improvement and support a practical Lean mindset within your organisation.

Very complete course. The resources being also added and exercises along with quizzes make it a really good. Besides information is concise enough to make it manageable but at the same time with everything necessary.

Taking the Lean Manufacturing course was a very valuable and rewarding experience. The course provided clear, practical, and well-structured explanations of Lean principles, and it helped me understand how to identify and eliminate waste in real-life situations, not only in manufacturing but also in daily operations.

I'm coming from a Knowledge Management background, and I was pleased to see the intersections of LEAN Management and Knowledge Management/KCS. It spurred me to do a side investigation of things like: How the "8 Wastes" from LEAN provide an excellent framework to illustrate how Knowledge Management (KM) and Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) can address inefficiencies in the workplace. This class was perfectly timed and demonstrated. Thank you!

The close out could have had visual of the summary to cater to all type of learners. The assessment on waste did not allow upload of screen shot it only allowed participants to type in do change the instruction accrodingly.

The content of the course was good, a thorough introduction to lean management, and the presenter was pleasant to listen to. But the slides are very uninspiring, mainly text only that the presenter reads out loud. Works well if you want to self study and go back to a specific slide, but I think the slides shall add something to the speech. There were a few examples that were well illustrated and the slides actually added value, but sadly these were few and far apart. In summary, good content and structure, but with slides that are outdated by 20 years.

Overall, informative. The content was good but the overall presentation could be more engaging. I am not sure how to do that though.
