It´s a good introduction, just a small detail as a user: the English pronunciation is a bit weird which distracts from the screen. I´m bilingual, my English is excellent, but I struggled a bit and the CC, which are auto-generated, usually get the words wrong.

It's covering the same information we've seen in this instructor's previous course. Thus far, no new knowledge has been made available. Also, learning how to sign up for software is an unnecessary step to cover when demoing software...

I have been working as functional and manual QA SW for some years. I decided to take this course, in order to refresh the profession´s bases, because the daily routine with developers, Product owner (other roles at the company) can modify your knowledge or point of view with some vices and non-generic terminology. Reviewing the profession´s foundations has enriched me in concepts, vocabulary and confidence in myself. I highly recommend it!

Good info. The closed captioning is not accurate. ie. when teacher says "QA", it reads "Q8", which is understandable, but there are many other confusing transcriptions of the audio. The transcript file matches the close captions, so there's no clarification, if you have a hard time understanding the accent at times. About half way through, it gets easier to understand the audio.

Clearly this instructor has lots of real world experience. He talks through the purpose and expectations for the various types of QA tests. His insights on what sets an excellent QA tester apart from a beginner are very useful.

Section 3, Lecture 6, I lost the instructor. The topic started out discussing Black Box Testing and the following slide he begins with what I believe is real work application using Functional Testing? However, they never tell you is the software they are using other than the screenshot on a word document. There are then several examples of using another type of software unknown, to give some testing scenarios within the Yahoo web browser. I am going to play the section again one additional time to see if I can grasp the concept of the slide. Ok, yes they are trying to provide real-world Functional Testing by inputting data into some type of testing software but they never explain what the software is they are showing an example for. In Section 3, Lecture 7, the sound level drops down to approximately 50% of what is was in the section prior. I notice this had happened before in previous sections this was the first time I took actual note of this happening. At the time of this review, I am only about 50% through the course and once I have completed the course I will complete the review based on the remaining sections.

I'm already a Java developer and sometimes I have to serve as a QA tester on my team. I decided to take a course so that I would have the substantive knowledge versus just the on-the-job experience. This course was direct and had a very good flow. The only thing I would add would be more demos, i.e., testing a software app or a change to a database view.

Updated review 10/24/17: After taking another course by another instructor, I can honestly say this course is a lot more in-depth than others. I have learned a lot from this course and used this as a foundation to further my learning. Old review: So far so good. Pretty good starter course to understand user testing. Instructor also provided great links to get started as a paid beginner.
