Exceptional. This course will rapidly get you building things and expose the fundamentals of actually building something. It's got just enough depth to be challenging but also gets you through to finished things that you can interact with quickly. The customer service was amazing as well. Very good Screencasts. I couldn't ask for something better. Τhe teacher is awesome, knows his stuff and very focused. I only wish someone introduced me to this course earlier. Thanks to the team that made this.

I am learning much more much faster from this course than other Udemy courses on Ruby on Rails. I like that he starts with the static content and layout using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, and then goes on to make each page dynamic using embedded ruby. I also like that he walks step by step through errors he has made and corrects them on screen. This has helped me a lot in my learning process. With other videos I hit a wall when I make an error and don't know how to progress after that. With his videos, I feel much more comfortable finding and correcting errors in my code to fix applications. I also like that he teaches the whole of the process from beginning to end instead of breaking every single thing down piecemeal. This works well with my style of learning.

Me parece un buen curso, no para principiantes, mejor si ya tienes alguna idea de RoR. Los ejemplos están bien para echar a andar. Se utilizan varias bases de datos, no solo Sqlite, lo que está bien y se utiliza bootstrap para el interfaz, lo que también está bien, generalmente los ejemplos no hacen hincapié en esto y son muy feos. Se necesita un nivel intermedio-alto de inglés.

The projects up to the spree project were engaging and easy to follow. Spree didn't work as explained, I suspect it's due to more recent versions of GEMS but no one would answer my discussion questions. Didn't feel like it was any better than watching a free YouTube video if that's how the discussion groups are treated.

This course if fine for deciding if you like Ruby on Rails or not. The first couple of projects have some good content, but stop short of actual usefulness. They leave you in a place where you can figure it out yourself, though (user login system, etc.). The E-Commerce site in particular, though, is very hand wavy. If you're learning RoR because you want to build something from scratch, look for one of the more comprehensive courses. This is mostly aimed at using gems to get something up and running quickly.

Easy to understand and gets straight to the point. This course is fantastic! I had read a couple of Rails tutorial books and sort of understood what the example code was doing, but was having trouble sorting out how to build my own app. This course really filled in some missing pieces. I learned a lot, feel more comfortable with Rails, and really understand how controllers, models, and routes depend on each other. I really love the quality the videos and lectures. “This is the BEST Rails introduction anywhere on the web!”

Never having been exposed to Rails development. I've never programmed with Ruby before, I found this a great way to learn and look forward to more Rails courses.. I also feel more confident about learning the Ruby I'd definitely recommend this course to beginners.The concept of the course is very good, it introduces you into Ruby on Rails by doing fully functional e-commerce platform. It is great source of information for startups because it shows you very efficient way to get the job done in simple and secure way.

Even though I am still working through the course, I am very happy with the quality of the course and the instructors knowledge of the subject. am not finished with this course yet, but so far I can say I am learning a lot and applying it in ways I never knew I could. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to gain more skills. Thanks

The projects are decent starter projects and having the program files is helpful. I found the videos to be very confusing as the instructor made a ridiculous amount of mistakes during the tutorials and instead of editing them out of the final video, he left them in. In some cases, watching someone troubleshoot could be helpful. This is not at all the case with the types of mistakes this instructor makes. And it's not once or twice. It's ALL THE TIME. We're constantly having to undo what we've just done. The video aspect has a very amateur feel and the instructor also does very little to explain ruby/rails concepts for beginners. It's only really useful if you want to watch someone type out all the lines of code and plan on googling a great deal or have someone who knows what they're doing to ask about it to actually understand why you're doing what you're doing. Also, I haven't seen the instructor/company participating at all in answering student questions as I normally see in the other Udemy classes I'm taking. All of the responses come from other students. If I had paid more than 10 dollars for the course, I would definitely be returning it.

Overall this course gave me what I was hoping for, some more projects to build on my novice level Ruby on Rails skills that I brought into the course. If I was starting from scratch with Ruby or Rails, I think I would have been lost. There were some errors in the content presented, and overall it didn't feel like the course was as polished as I would have expected for the $150 price tag I paid. The last project is really more of a intro to working with the Spree system and doing some CSS overrides than it is a true rails project. It definitely shows the robustness of the gem ecosystem, but it didn't really stretch any of my Ruby or Rails skills. I probably could have gotten most of that info from the Spree documentation, honestly. It would have been nice to see (in addition to the Spree project or in place of it) examples of taking an app out of development mode and launching to the public on a service like Heroku, and all the things one needs to keep in mind when publishing an app.
