Good beginners course, alphabet is clearly explained on both writing and speaking forms. Much more example words would have been appreciated.

Hi, After looking everywhere for a course to do this is what I chose. Not that good of a choice in my opinion. My partner is Russian so I wanted to learn to speak the language.
I want to start with the quizes. They are terrible. The first question was, Kto = Vladimir Putin, true or false. How stupid isthat.
The next issue is that with the alphabet she spends about 6 minutes a video teaching you 2 letters. She does show you what they look like in written context.

I recommend this course 100% if you actually want to learn, the instructor is always motivative

It has definitely simplified things - I was already pretty familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet, but this made it easy to learn how to write it in cursive which I felt lost on. Also, the practice words and phrases helped with learning pronunciation.
The only negative thing I'd say about it is I wish she'd say the words and phrases more slowly.
Edit: This is for the pronunciation section of the course. It is very thorough in showing you how to pronounce the different sounds. The visualization is extremely helpful.

I felt like a challenge and have learnt much through this, my first Udemy course. I found the early sections pronouncing letters very interesting. I can now read and write the Russian alphabet, particularly the handwritten form. The inevitable grammar and word rules were "fun". I did struggle on the listening quiz videos as there was a lot of new vocabulary introduced but they are realistic scenarios so I paused, replayed and noted down a lot of the phrases to try and learn. Overall an informative introduction with simple, clear videos and short quizzes to help become acquainted with Russian language and culture.

It was easy to understand and learn. Pretty sure I'll be fluent in Russian!

I really appreciate the first part of the course about alphabet explanation, writing and pronunciation, as well as the 3 minutes lectures.
Nonetheless, I cannot give more than 3 stars because of the quizzes and the comprehension sections. Quizzes are unfortunately no brain; therefore, it is impossible to verify your progress. The comprehension sections are interesting and challenging, but the level proposed is way too high compare to the few notions given in the course. The solution can be either extend the course adding more lecture's hours, or drastically simplify the listening exercises.
Overall, an interesting course to get some taste of Russian, but far to be an optimal course to learn the language.
