Learn to play the Bouzouki - Greek Bouzouki Lessons (Udemy.com)

Its a beginners course. It me started. Now I think I should get myself a Bouzouki teacher

Not much explanation, for songs and scales you just have to watch the video and figure out. Would be better if there was more explanation and some sheet music to help.

I know theory of music very well. I would like to just start to play bouzuki, because it is my favourite country, after my of course. :-)

This course is on level for what I'd expect from a free series on YouTube. This course is mediocre in its presentation and provided material. The three songs that you have to learn by ear and sight isn't that big of an issue but what you'd expect from something that is free. As a beginner to the instrument I'd expect to hear some insight into learning these songs and what I'd expect from a paid service. As someone who's learned multiple instruments from different sources the bouzouki has been the most challenging as this has been the best source I've found in English.

Amazing course - but very challenging. There is no tab, which means you have to learn the songs and scales by watching the videos and playing by ear. If you're not used to this style of instruction, then you will probably have to put in a lot of effort and do some additional research. But for me, that effort has been 100% worth it. The first month was a complete headf*ck, but I persevered, and now I am improving my skills and enjoying my practice. What I really love about this course is the "songs for beginners". They are beautiful, challenging, and fun to play. No nursery rhymes or Christmas carols here; the first song has a 9/4 (or 9/8 ??) time signature! I do have a couple of minor complaints: the section on Greek rhythms is too short, and the intro to music theory is too long. This course is probably too hard for someone who has not studied music before; and if you've studied music before, you will know all of the theory covered in this course.

The course is too superficial treated. Bouzouki is an ethnic instrument and is not approached by beginners than if they are of Greek origin. So those who want to follow this kind of course certainly have basic musical notions and know at least one instrument. However, it is appreciated that someone who is not from the Greek environment is promoting this instrument. The course is worth maintaining but greatly improved: audio (better quality), video (different angles ), musical sheets to share, etc.

Very good basic instruction for the beginner. I think that the basics are good enough, but it needs more time spent on more examples of how to develop styles and also common techniques used when playing the bouzouki. I particularly like the normal and slowed-down actual songs, but could do with a few more please? Some additional tests and examples on how to play for tablatures and music scores would be extremely useful here, too, although I do realise many bouzouki players lean the basics and then develop their own styles by learning in their own way. All in all, it does the job, gets you interested and tells you enough to start playing bouzouki.

It is clear and understandable broken into small bits of information for easy learning.

The explanation is clear and straightforward. A video instruction for the major and minor scales would be nice, so the exact chord sounds and finger positions would be fully explained.

Easy to understand. Well explained. Pleasant teacher. Nice diagrams. ve ze kasher : )
