What Udemy students are saying about this course:
This course had a lot of great tips and instruction on macro photography for a beginner like me. I’ve learned about cameras and other equipment used in macro photography. The instructor has a vast range of knowledge that he presents in an easy to digest manner. I like how the instructor uses DIY equipment as well as equipment that can be purchased. It gives the student options when first starting out with macro photography. This course is a great reference guide as well. I know I’ll be referring back to it as I practice. If you’re a beginner like me, I highly recommend this course! -- Jamie Santellano
Great work; good quality videos; precise, clear commentary_ instructions and product recommendations. Great Teacher! Worth watching if you are interested in macro photography, as I am. Now to get my camera and already purchased gear and go out to find shots and to shop for some new gear that was suggested. Look out world, here I come! -- Rudra Tyson
Just a great discussion. I really enjoyed the "out of the box" ideas to make macro photography cheaper. Really good detailed explanation . . . -- Ross Brewer

Course covered so much good territory. It answered some of the key questions I had about macro photography -- especially with regard to focus stacking, rotating the focus ring to get multiple shots vs. using a focus rail, etc. -- questions which I could not find answers for anywhere else. Excellent discussion of magnification rates at the beginning of the course and excellent discussion of Helicon at the end. A great reference source as I plunge into macro photography. Thank You.

Very informative videos. I like that he shows you ways to try macro photography without spending a lot of money on expensive equipment, and also has recommendations on different equipment if you are wanting to invest more in macro photography.

Second half of the course is an excellent resource. The first half of the course while informative was a deluge of information. Tough to grasp and follow. Very technical. The course is best suited for slightly experienced photographers and not beginners as the technical aspects were a little much to digest. Overall, still an excellent course but will need to refer back to for details.

Coverage of the subject is extensive and presented with practicality in mind. Getting into macro photography can be expensive but doesn't have to be. The experience of the instructor clearly shows. I will be returning to these videos many times.

I loved this course. Learnt a lot. It would have been useful to also include some of the updated list of lenses like the Tamron SP 90 mm which is also a good compromise for amazin quality at relatively affordable price (compared to the original Nikon 105 mm lens). Post processing focused on Macro could have been included in the same course instead of third party links. Overall, its an excellent course and will surely benefit the subscribers. Thanks!

This course gives a good introduction to macro photography covering equipment and techniques. The course also goes through the relationships between focal lengths, aperture and shutter speeds. All which is necessary to move on from a point and shoot camera and delve into a new subject. Therefore recommended for a beginner but an intermediate photographer who would have dabbled with macro work would possibly consider this a refresher course.

Very well presented and kept my interest through out the course. I have some experience in this photography but haven't used it in a long time. The course has been a good refresher and also introduced me to valuable information such as the equations for magnification/focus.

Just a great discussion. I really enjoyed the "out of the box" ideas to make macro photography cheaper. Really good detailed explanation. Only thought would be a little more "field work" with an explanation of how to keep a fly posing long enough for stacking photos :-). There is a lot to ponder here and practice.
