This Magento 1.x course is very useful for merchants who are running their eCommerce web application on Magento 1.x version OR Developers working on Magento 1.x version codebase.

How to setup Magento in your local system,
How to create Magento modules for frontend and admin panel.

Magento 1 Tutorial for Developers (Basic to Advance) Part 1
-This course is must for anyone doesn't know anything about Magento 1.x. In this we will setup Magento, will give a quick Introduction to storefront and Admin panel, Theme Setup and creation of a very basic module and then a full functional complex admin module.
Magento 1 Tutorial for Developers (Basic to Advance) Part 2
-This course is optional. You can take it if you want to learn some advance customization features available on Magento. We will use custom module to create attributes, crons, event observers and system configurations. This to be taken after completing Part 1 of this series.
Magento 1 Tutorial for Developers (Basic to Advance) Part 3
-This course is also optional and talks about advance customization features available on Magento 1.x. We will create custom payment and shipping methods, overriding core Magento files to inject complex logic and do advance customization to our store.
Note: Magento 1.x is not available now. So some information about downloading the course will not be valid. There is a brand new version Magento 2 OR Adobe Magento Commerce is now available. I will be publishing course on Magento 2 very soon. If you are not restricted to learn/use Magento 1 then you can skip this course(As Magento 1 is no longer available to download/install) and look for Course on Magento 2 or wait for my course on it.

Step by step easy to learn. Good for beginners and experienced. Started from basics like how to setup and then shows how complex module can be created. Only thing some places there could be more explanation could help. But overall best course for Magento.

doesn't explain why things are done in a particular way. examples don't express anything concrete & usable. there are no real concrete "how tos" that could help me in real development

Even though this course states that it's for beginners, and even people who are not developers, the author assumes a lot of pre-installed software and SysAdmin knowledge. For instance; installing and setting up WAMP/LAMP/XAMP to work correctly is not easy at all for someone who's never had to work with it or who has no experience setting up a webserver stack on their local machine. Errors will be encountered and the author gives no support or explanation of those. Update: I have upped the rating on this course as it is informative, but it is ultimately not the type of information I was looking for.

The course is a good match and I'm learning valuable skills I just wish I could hear it better and that there were course transcripts like other courses I've done.
