Course Description

I've spent the last 10+ years making videos for brands & artists and there has clearly been a major shift in content being consumed. Everyone used to throw around words like "Professional" and "Commercial". Now it's all about "Viral" "Memes" "Trendy".

After seeing the significance of online video, I started a youtube channel and my life was changed in a matter of months.

We no longer need big expensive productions to make good videos. What's important is what you put in front of that camera, how you tell your story, understanding what makes stimulating content, and presenting it in a way that'll leave your viewers begging for more.

YO!!! Thanks for stopping by! Most of you know me as Potato Jet on youtube where I geek out about new cameras and tech while I travel around and do weird things and stuff. Outside of youtube I've been a professional filmmaker for over 10 years where I've shot and directed commercial with brands such as FIAT, Disney, Paypal, Sandisk, etc.

Against all the appearance of spontaneity and creative "viral" genius, the making of entertaining video content clearly requires mastering the craft through hard work and continuous practice. There are many resources out there, but Potato Jet (Nagata) is a winner with this well thought out course, his down to earth practicality, energetic personality, and proven success on YouTube.

Excellent introduction to the key ideas presented in a fast-pace and engaging way! (Ok, I figured out some of this watching lots of youtube and asking myself why some videos held my attention while others couldn't--but the course is helping me understand some of the underlying "whys" and alerting me to other things I've not noticed so far.)

Love it! I will definitely send over a video to critique once I utilize your great suggestions to the content and editing. ^_^ Exceeded expectations and the video footage here was super fun to watch and helpful at the same time.

Concise and straightforward with great examples. It's easy to digest the points that Potato Jet is trying to get across and draw inspiration from. I only got through Section 1 and already I've learned some pretty profound ideas that I have been applying to my content.
