Course Description

This course offers beginner guitar lessons for students who want to learn guitar from the ground up and progress quickly to an intermediate and advanced level. We’ll take you from absolute square one and give you a comprehensive understanding of the guitar as we cover chords, scales, soloing, power chords, fingerpicking, strumming, rhythm and much more.  We’re also going to keep it fun by constantly adding to your song repertoire with practical and engaging song examples from classic rock to country, blues, modern, alternative and more.

Our expert guitar instructors will encourage and motivate you while helping you develop good habits and a solid foundation. You’ll receive an in-depth daily guitar lesson from a team of 8 different teachers throughout the course, each bringing their own personal insight and experience to the table. In addition, you’ll have a practice guide with an overview of what material to practice each day after the lesson has concluded.

This course is an accelerated 90-Day program that will take you from barely being able to play air guitar, to having a comprehensive and versatile skill set across multiple genres of music!  Not every student will be able to complete the course in 90 days, and that’s okay. There is enough material in this program to substitute 1 year or more of private guitar lessons. We encourage students to master the material presented in each lesson before moving on.  Your dedication and hard work will pay off, we promise!

Music Matchr

Taylor Barnett, founder at MusicMatchr, had his first musical experience when he was enrolled in piano lessons at a young age. After several lessons the instructor harshly told his parents that he had no musical talent and that they were wasting their money. A rough start to what would be a life dedicated to his passion for music. By the age of 12 Taylor proved that assumption wrong when he first picked up the guitar. From then on he never looked back. Over the years Taylor has honed his skills as a player and worked to master the many styles and genres of modern guitar playing, and he is still learning and growing as a musician to this day. He has plenty of performance experience under his belt, playing with his original band of long time friends and performing in worship groups for local churches. Taylor also pursued music academically in high school, earning high honors for classical performance that would eventually lead him to enroll as a performance major in the Jazz program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. There he was part of the Jazz ensemble and had the opportunity to work with some the most respected and talented guitar instructors in the country. In addition, Taylor took on a minor degree for Music Technology which involves the art of recording, mixing, and multi-media. Soon after completing his degrees in music and business, he continued pursuing his passion through the art of music education and continues to enjoy working with studen

Far too much repetition! Anyone wanting to recap a video lesson can watch the video again - we don't need another video covering exactly the same thing. Personally I need a lot more advice on using the pick accurately - I keep hitting the wrong string and I think there are probably ways of avoiding this. Hardly any attention has been given to the pick technique so far, I'm on Day 26.

This course is a good match. It teaches proper technique in a logical order and is self paced. For me it is important that I can pace myself and spend the amount of time on a particular segment that I need extra work on. Example, the C chord. My fingers do not want to cooperate and make the necessary stretch, and I do not want to move on until I have that chord mastered and transition to another chord with relative ease. Since I have a music background (piano and percussion), my biggest challenge is mastering the fret board. I really do like this coarse.

I am on Day 20 and just felt compelled to write this review. Both the instructors so far have been extremely thorough, jovial and easy to follow. I had some basic knowledge of the content that has been covered, having taken lessons before but it is not until this course that I feel that there is a logic to the way concepts are being introduced and that I am gaining practical tips to improve my playing in a personalized manner (even though it is a pre-recorded video). They have laid it out so well that any question you could ask, has been answered. I have never experienced this level of depth with guitar teachers who have taught me in person. So glad I chanced upon this (For once, I am thankful for targetted youtube ads). Excited to go through the rest of the course. Ps - Peter Blackwell and his constantly changing hairstyles are legendary.

This is a good course for absolute beginners. This course covers a lot of the basics and a broad set of fundamental or beginner skill sets. I will admit that I expected a bit more than the basics because the title says "Master guitar" and this course is far from what I would call guitar mastery. It really is just the basics.

I enjoy the course very much and that I can move on my own pace as I don't always have time to learn everyday or even some weeks the new things. But when I do get the time I enjoy learning simple, yet very practical and effective lessons and can then practice it with the printouts. This course works for me as I can't always get to a teacher to learn to play the guitar due to coming home late and being away most weekends. Thank you for the great course!

When I started I wasn't sure will a 90 day program work. But as I progress, the course builds up the proficiency and I actually believe the 90 day program will take me to a good level in playing. Short classes so that its easy to practice and move forward and not stuck at one place even if I am short on time some days. I actually look forward to the next class usually. The instructors are really good and motivating and they connect with me. The process and target are both in sync and that is unique to this online course. I am glad I joined this course.

Ok overall. A mix of different instructors, but the format becomes very formulaic, I like it until about day 30, after that I struggled. You essentially end up learning short riffs from lots of different bands. That's fine for a while but it gets really tired eventually

Updated and increased the rating. Tutors and content improved as the course progresses. Previous comment: Started well but tutors changed after while with different approaches to teaching but covering similar content. Looks like the course is a compilation of free stuff from YouTube or possibly parts of other courses. The branding changes so this seems to be a bit of compilation. Currently working with two other courses which are more coherent and do more than teach strumming patterns' It's OK but I prefer the others' Not an absolute beginner which may also colour my view'

John Gorbe builds this section in simple easy to understand brick by brick steps. He provides very useful practical technique tips. I like that he includes the techniquel with how to play songs in basic form. That provides great satisfaction at the end of a session. I already know most of the chords but he is combining them in simple ways to make transition easier. I was struggling to bring everything togething but already i feel i have made progress and feel much more confident and energised.
