This is an excellent course which is really useful in helping you get to grips with the basics of Matlab. Mike is awesome, he is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. He also always replies very quickly in the Q&A forum with helpful responses if you are stuck. I've really enjoyed doing this course and I've learned a lot. I'm also in the middle of doing Mike's course on Deep Learning (which is amazing). Thanks for the great course Mike!

I came over from the neural time signaling course after realising that I did not have the necessary understanding of coding to successfully continue that course - I was dreading every day I had to try and learn to use MATLAB again. However, this course now really helped me a lot, as it picked me up right at the start. This course teaches you the fundamental basics that are elsewhere often just assumed to be known and not further addressed. I was able to make a lot of progress in a very short time and feel much more prepared to take another MATLAB course now that I finally know how to interact with it and how to tackle basic problems. However, Mike lost me for a brief moment in Section 10 and I had to rewind the videos from time to time to understand what was going on. Luckily, his teaching style is really encouraging and motivational, so that I took my time and figured it out. I can really recommend this course for absolute beginners like myself.

The instructor, Mike X Cohen is an excellent expert in the subject matter and at the same time shows incredible teaching capability. Both these qualities are not very common for a professor/instructor/teacher. Mike has covered the concepts in using MATLAB with lots of examples and exercises. My time spent on this course is worth every moment! Thanks, Mr. Mike for working so hard in creating and teaching this course. Next, I am going to take one of his many courses.

There is a lot to like here. A lot of basics are covered. The pace is slow, to not lose beginners (listening at 1.5x can be helpful). The instructor seems to know his stuff. Certainly at the level needed for this course. But some of the bad habits shown are grating: - I have now watched many hours of large font MATLAB with the editor / command window split such that I nearly never can see the complete output in the command window. This would be forgivable, but for the fact that nearly the right two thirds of the screen are essentially unused. I get that the instructor likes this layout at his native resolution, but it's poison for readability on this course. A side by side split would work much better. - Dumbing down concepts needlessly (ex: "miniverse" in lesson 40). If there is time to discuss something, use the correct terms. There are likely beginners starting their programming careers here, and this is just filling their heads with nonsense words that can be confused with terms that actually need to be learned. - Naming bad habits (ex: ilikechocholate for a conditional breakpoint variable, lesson 40). There is no reason for this (nonsense name, no camelCase / underscores). It takes away from the 99% of the course that the instructor does a good job on. These kinds of problems can be very grating after watching them hours on end. I do not feel that the instructor is CS ignorant. I suspect he has just formed some bad habits and has enshrined them in this course. Despite all my complaining, there is a lot of useful content in this course and is useful.

I've been self-taught MATLAB as I was going through Mike's analyzing neural time series courses. I was very happy to find that Mike has a separate intro course for MATLAB. The course helps me organize what I have known and teaches me what I didn't know. It saves me countless hours which could have been spent on searching for core learning materials appropriate for a MATLAB beginner. And it's a blessing to find someone who can deliver ideas in a way that's as clear and enjoyable as Mike.

Today I have reached the end of this course and, as I had anticipated in a previous mid-course review, I can confirm that it was definitely worth the purchase. The course provides the perfect balance between theory and exercises to learn the basics of Matlab programming and the software main and additional functionalities. The teacher speaks slowly and clearly, so his English is perfectly understandable (though I left subtitles on to make sure I was not missing anything). Also, the teacher explains in a very clear and efficient way, he knows exactly how to communicate and how to transfer his knowledge to students. Not by chance, he possesses a strong background in neuroscience and years of experience in teaching. His expertise in Matlab is clearly enormous; that makes me confident that Ive learnt the basics of programming from the right person. I also appreciated the increasing difficulty of the lessons and the duration of the course, since 10.5 hours is not too long. I advise any student interested in following this course to take lots of notes on a separate word file, especially if, like me, its their first time dealing with programming. I will consider to buy Master Python programming by solving scientific projects next.

It was little bit confusing sir.But i try to practise more this session.Giving '%' comment improper make any changes in the command window.(or like c programming command will not affect the program)
