Course Description

In this project,  we will build a Bing News Data Analytics platform!

This would be a complete end to end Azure Data Engineering project that's done using Microsoft Fabric. We'll pull raw data from Bing API, transform the raw data to clean data with Synapse Data Engineering, analyze sentiment with Synapse Data Science, set up workflows with Data Factory, make cool reports with Power BI, set alerts with Data Activator, and test everything well. Let's get started on Bing News Analytics!

The Topics covered in this Project are,

1. Data Ingestion from Bing API using Data Factory: Learn how to seamlessly pull in data from external sources, setting the foundation for your analytics project.

2. Data Transformation using Synapse Data Engineering: Dive into the process of shaping and refining your raw JSON data to a curated Delta Table, including techniques like incremental loading to keep your processes efficient.

3. Sentiment Analysis using Synapse Data Science: Uncover insights hidden within the news description by predicting the sentiment of the news classified as Positive, Negative or Neutral.

4. Orchestration using Data Factory via pipelines: Discover the art of orchestrating your data workflows, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

5. Data Reporting using Power BI: Visualize your data in a compelling and actionable manner, empowering stakeholders with valuable insights.

6. Configuring Alerts using the Data Activator: Stay ahead of potential issues by setting up alerts and notifications within your Power BI visuals using a new tool called Data Activator.

7. End to End Pipeline Testing: The complete flow will be tested right from the data ingestion to the data transformation and until the report gets updated with the incoming new data to Validate the integrity and performance of your pipelines, ensuring reliability and accuracy.

This project revolves around Bing News Data Analytics, a practical application that involves ingesting news data daily and generating insightful reports. By walking through each step in a simplified manner, I aim to make Azure Data Engineering accessible to all enthusiasts, regardless of their background.

Pre-requisites

Not completely happy. Mixed satisfaction. Fabric explained in the video was still in Preview The example taken is Bing news (I would prefer a sql database with many tables in incremental and full refresh)

This is my 1st review, glad I chose a quick and good training to understand practical about Data Fabric. Just spot on, really useful for experience Data Engineers or Architects with experience on other platforms - Snowflake, Data Fabric, Redshift etc. It would have been nice to have this course refreshed in case of any changes to Data Fabric since this course was recorded in early 2024, otherwise just great.

This is very helpful for me to understand usage of fabric, highly recommended this course for the people who are having some real time experience on traditional azure Data engineering projects. Also in this course I also learned integrating Data science ML model (some sample model) which can give confidence while integrating both Data engineering and Data science using Microsoft fabric. Thank you once again for this wonderful course in a short time.

This is a great start point that allowed me learning in a practical and really rapid way. Now l am ready to apply what l learned in a real project and continue learning on my own way. Thank you!!!

By Subhash Kumar on 10/11/2024

Project was nicely explained and implemented. I am keeping half mark because the actual picture is not cleared since, for Enterprises we will have different environment, how do we do the deployment and testing.

By Doraid Waheed on 10/11/2024

The course is focused and covers all Microsoft Fabric components. It’s excellent for those who already have subject matter expertise in the data field. I wouldn’t consider it a beginner course, but as an SME, I gained a lot from it. Thank you!

By Sameer Mehta on 8/13/2024

Great content! However, I believe we're missing a crucial aspect—how to move the entire pipeline from Dev to QA to Prod using CI/CD practices. Including that in the course would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wonderful learning experience! In a very short video (about 3.25 hours), you have covered/implemented so many important topics that a data professional used to work in their daily life. Hope to get more tutorials like this :)
