Course Description

[EXCLUSIVE] Double Degree, Badges & Community. Upon completing this course you will receive 2 Certificates of Completion, a Microsoft Teams Certified Digital Badge you can add to your CV, LinkedIn Profile or any other online profile & access to the most dynamic Agile Community in the world.

This Microsoft Teams course will help you get you up and running quickly with Microsoft Teams. Think of it as a Teams fundamentals and essentials crash course for the workplace.

As part of the Office 365 suite of applications, Microsoft Teams is one of the most important and widely used Microsoft productivity apps in businesses around the world. It is also Microsoft's fastest growing application and has even surpassed the likes of Slack (another widely used business productivity application).

At the workplace, I use Microsoft Teams on a daily basis, multiple times a day every single day. And that's not a coincidence. Teams is just intuitive, modern, easy to use and a perfect fit for the interactions we have with people at the office.

Microsoft Teams allows you to communicate, collaborate, share files, work on files concurrently, make business decisions, solve business problems, manage your tasks and projects and more, a lot more.

The sky is the limit when it comes to Microsoft Teams. It's just that powerful, trust me. But beyond that, allow me to show you why it's so powerful and fun to use. And why so many businesses and people use it.

Teams is the hub for teamwork within Office 365. Teams fulfills the collaboration and communication needs of a diverse workforce, including chat, meetings, voice, and video. The look and feel of these functions is modern, intuitive, fast and fluid, has low-overhead, and is instantly familiar since it doesn't differ too much from other applications employees use in the modern world outside the office.

Teams integrates with all the apps you already use at the workplace. Teams integrates with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Planner, Stream and even Power BI, so employees have the information and tools they need available at their fingertips. Team members can also include other apps and services in their workspaces, for the team and organization.

Teams allows the ability to customize workspaces with tabs, connectors, and bots. For the developer community at Microsoft and elsewhere, Teams has an extensible platform for building apps that takes functionality further and allows teams to reach their goals and objectives.

Teams offers a complete and modern meeting experience. Prior to starting a meeting, team members can review conversations; during a meeting, teams can share content and use audio conferencing and video. Teams supports private and group meeting capabilities, scheduling capabilities, and free/busy calendar availability.

Teams has integrated security. Teams comes with the enterprise-grade security integrated with the Office 365 Security and Compliance Center and Azure Active Directory. It fits neatly into your primary solution for identity and access management, and allows you to maintain control over our data and environment.

Teams, in combination with Office 365, creates a hub for modern collaboration and effective teamwork. It empowers employees to engage with the business and each through a diverse set of channels, providing higher productivity and velocity in communication.

While the course covered useful topics, certain sections felt repetitive and did not add significant value. Streamlining the content would make the course more concise and engaging, allowing learners to focus on the most impactful topics.

I enjoyed the training the only thing was the conference call was a little long and not much interaction on screen with that to show live functionalities in progress on sharing etc but overall nice course on the basis of Teams.

By Heather Dutton on 8/7/2025

This course would be good for a beginner. For someone who has used Microsoft teams before I was moving through this course quickly. The video conference at the end I felt was lengthy. Overall a good course to learn from if you have never used it before.

By Alfred Davalos on 6/22/2025

This gave a lot of good information. However, as in any learning course, it would have be great to quiz the learners at various points of the course. The Agile topic was bonus information. It could be its own course. That information got anyone interested in Project Management something to think about.

This course was helpful and easy to follow. The instructor shows a hands-on experience on how to navigate MS Teams, and it was very helpful since we are now using it in the office.

The course was super helpful and easy to follow, and I liked that it was hands-on. I actually enjoyed exploring Teams and figuring out how it can make work and collaboration so much easier. I’m definitely ready to use it in real situations and even help others if they get stuck. Overall, I’d say it was totally worth it!

This is an older version which is kind of useful but some of the options available in this version are not where they are in the new version. Eg. edit teams. Also the menus have changed and I think names have been altered (is a "conversation" the same as a "post"?)

By Mark Angiulli on 10/21/2024

This is very informative. I am familiar with teams and regular meetings. I am now using the chat mode since starting at Ignite. Definitely need to pay attention to Power point and Share point for inclusion for meetings.

By Jared Bills on 8/18/2024

I learned more about the basics of MS Teams and how to set up digital teams with icons and images to make it more visually appealing. Overall this is a great beginner course for MS Teams.

It was a pretty good course and covered all of the functionality, but it seemed like there was a lot of repetition, so I feel like the course could have been shorter. Especially the 30 minute "Real Life Teams Call" session - only the first maybe 5 minutes were focused on Teams Call functionality and then the rest of the call was about Agile - because I didn't know if there would be other useful Teams tips given during the call I played the whole video, when I didn't really need to. It would have been useful if that was made clear after the initial "Teams focused" part of the video. (The info on Agile was interesting, but it was not the reason I was doing this course)
