Course Description

This course is designed to help you learn "how to study" for certification exams and understand how to pick the right answers on test day. Now, I know that sounds simple, but there is a method to this that many students don't know.

Have you ever taken an IT Certification exam and scored only 695 but needed 700 to pass? Have you had to retake the exam several times in order for you to pass? If so, you may need some help learning how to take certification exams more effectively. This is because they are different from than the tests you took during high school, college, or university.

In this course, you will learn how to study better, take more efficient notes, and most importantly, how to increase your odds of passing your CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, CASP+), Microsoft, ISC2 (CISSP, SSCP), EC-Council (CEH), or other IT Certification exams on the first attempt by using our tips, tricks, and efficiency gains to your advantage.

After teaching all these techniques in the course, we will dive into some practice exam questions (A+, Network+, Security+, PenTest+, ITIL 4 Foundation, and CISSP) and put these principles to use, showing you how they can help you increase your odds of success, so that you can pass your exam on the first attempt!

What my students are saying about this course:

  • I enjoyed the course so much I ran it from beginning to end on one session. It is very clear and easy to understand and the explanations of tackling test questions should prove very useful. I will definitely be using these techniques in my next exam. (Eddie, 5 star)

  • I am very interested in cutting my time down on my studies but have the important information. Learning style registers very well with me and some of the things spoken in here appears backwards to those I know, but actually syncs to how I do things. (LaRanne, 5 stars)

  • Really helped. I took some good notes that resonated with me, plus I like that he includes the study guide PDF that is a written breakdown of everything he covered. Taking my Sec+ in 2 weeks. This has eased the nerves alot! Thx Jason! (Rodrigo Segura, 5 stars)

Upon completion of this course, you will earn 3 CEUs towards the renewal of your CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Cloud+, PenTest+, CySA+, or CASP+ certifications.

There are some fantastic tips and hints on how to improve reading and note-taking. However, I wish there had been more practical examples in sections 3–6, rather than PowerPoint slides. Show us your real notes and guide us through one or two pages of reading and note-taking e.g.

I love Jason Dion's positivity and his enthusiasm. This includes teaching us the keys to success on how to do well on IT certifications and this includes CompTIA A+. I like how Jason Dion is teaching us how to work smarter and not harder. Very brilliant, Jason. I like that. I also like how you encourage us to do activities on our laptops and computers like do computer hardware and firewalls including knowing how to set firewall settings. I will absolutely consider that.

Fantastic! Starting with this course first is going to make it super easy to study the rest of the courses and pass the exams. Would highly recommend to go through this one first before looking to tackle the other courses as it'll show you the most efficient way of studying, note taking, memorising and process of elimination when it comes to the exams.

In my opinion, the practice test should be broken down into smaller sets. I understand that the CompTIA exams contain an est 75 questions. I think practicing smaller sets of 25 to 30 questions allows students to retain information and we can identify troubled areas clearly. That is just my opinion. When creating Quizlet practice exams, Quizlet allows optional quiz sizes.

The best course by far that I've taken on passing certification exams. I learned many great strategies and tips for both studying and taking certification exams that I never considered before studying this course. I'm sure that with a little practice using these new techniques on some practice exams that my actual exam day will be much easier! Thank you, this course was definitely worth the money, time and 5 star rating!

Jason has some really good tips on how to read exam questions to find out what is really being asked and then how to use grouping techniques to figure out the best answer.

I really enjoyed this course as it brought new ways of studying and focusing on what is important to pass IT certification exams. The course makes me feel more confident and I bought this just in time since I am preparing to take my CISSP Exam. The methods of studying are extremely interesting and it makes sense, I used to think that I was not good at taking exams until Jason brought a new way on concentrating on what is important to pass the exam. Best 10 bucks ever spent.

Audio : Extremely good audio/speaker - the audio quality is consistently very clear, loud, and the speaker has a good speaking voice. I'm glad there's been effort to ensure a very clear audio so there're no issues at all in listening. Visual : Jason has taken pains to do a very nice presentation - putting himself in the video at appropriate times, useful & clear slides, with good interaction with the presentation where he uses on-screen markers. Content : Clear and to the point. My impression is Jason is a very good teacher who's able to communicate well and concisely. I would highly recommend this course for anyone considering to take any IT certification exams.

Waiting on test taking anxiety help Wish I'd known this long ago; I've been around systems since 1980s and have wanted job involving this type of work, but never was able to get it. Perhaps now, after taking cert exam, I will be able to do so. Would like to see more info on taking exam, i.e. if you have to go to a center or can take it online (as some exams are now done); also, if you aren't working how to possibly get a break on exam vouchers Thank you again - great test taking advice!
