Performance Testing Using JMeter:Beginner to Industry-Expert (Udemy.com)
Master Apache JMeter for Load, Stress, and API Performance Testing with Real-World Projects

Our take
Based on the ratings of 2,742 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in June 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a beginner-first walkthrough of Apache JMeter from Automation World, running about 24 hours over 200 lectures. It starts with installation and recording, then moves through controllers, timers, assertions, listeners, BeanShell scripting, SOAP and REST testing, JDBC sampling and Git. It was last updated in June 2026. One thing to know up front: roughly seven hours is an optional SQL and Java primer, so the JMeter itself is closer to 17 hours. Manual testers moving into performance work are the natural audience.
Reviewers like how clearly the instructor explains things. Several started with little or no JMeter and felt confident afterward, and one says they could apply it in their own project. The complaints are consistent. People want more realistic scenarios, a downloadable sample project and more help reading results. A few say videos feel old or repeated, one asked for better video quality, and one felt a third of the course is not JMeter. The course page mentions Jenkins and distributed testing, but the section titles list neither, and one reviewer asks for more on CI/CD.
About 84 percent of the 2,742 ratings are four or five stars, while 310 are three stars and the average sits at 4.1. With 16,245 students, it is well used. It is a solid first course for learning the tool, with the Java and SQL extras bundled in. If you already know JMeter and want advanced tuning, results analysis or pipelines, look elsewhere. For a newcomer who wants one structured path, it does the job.
Pros
- Clear, easy-to-follow explanations that leave newcomers feeling confident
- Covers SOAP and REST, JDBC sampling, BeanShell and Git in one place
- Optional SQL and Java primers help testers who lack those basics
- Updated June 2026, with 200 lectures across 26 sections
Cons
- Some videos look dated or repeat each other, and one reviewer found the video quality poor
- Few realistic scenarios and little on interpreting test results
- Jenkins CI/CD and distributed testing are advertised but not in section titles
Great learning experience. Everything was explained well from the installation up to the actual testing, with added tutorials for SQL and programming.
Suits true beginners. No performance or programming background needed, though basic Java helps with BeanShell.

So good!! Easy to understand demo's, LOTS of examples. With very little knowledge before the course, I am confident now, however... practice makes perfect. It is important to keep practising now. HIGHLY recommended!!! Many thanks for not just an easy way to learn but a pleasurable experience

This course is really very good. Each and every concept is explained very clearly .after completion I am really feeling much confident in JMeter concepts. Instructor seems to have awesome knowledge in JMeter, he explained things in such a fantastic way so that even non technical people can also learn JMeter easily. I am able to implement concept practically as well in my Project after completion of course. I am giving this course as 5 STAR rating...its really Great...

Great explanation of several main settings, controllers and elements, plus some guidance on Java, SQL and Git too! Great plus, the only thing I'd have liked is to explain how to understand or do an interpretation of the performance results, what does it mean to have a high/low throughput and such, but overall, highly recommended. Very well explained

The content is good, but the screen lay out and speech are off. The presenter speeds up and slows down his voice based on content type and it makes it hard to follow. Also, because of the content framing it is impossible to watch video full screen.

Good course for the beginners of Jmeter. Coverage of Java and GIT basics are bonus learning in this course. Suggestion: Should include more practical excercise labs. It'll provide better handson learning experience.

Without prior knowledge to Jmeter I learnt a lot from this course. It would be nice to have more error condition explained and how to tackle them. I believe we learn more if we get more error and by knowing how to fix them. Over all this course is excellent.

This course is quite complete, covering most JMeter functionalities that are available nowadays. It also goes through topics that are not precisely related to performance tests, like Web Services and Git, which, in my opinion, were not necessary. Additionally, there is a lack of concern and refinement over the presented audiovisual content, as letting enabled notifications from Skype (personal), not equalizing lectures sound, and not removing or reducing the noise from keyboard typing. However, lectures are useful, and I would certainly recommend the course to someone that is aiming to learn JMeter.

I think any body who doesn't know J meter can go through these courses and gain a detailed insight on J meter and performance testing. Good explanations have been provided and good way to practically explaining the concepts. So its great ovrall

Best JMeter course on udemy. Very detailed explanation on each and every topic. Really helpful for performance testing beginners . Also some advance level topics, SQL queries and WebService performance testing (Soap & Rest) are plus.
By Adheer Khandelwal on 8/17/2016
The content of the course is good but some of the lectures are missing which is the part of the course like JDBC sampler, Performance testing of Rest service using Jmeter etc. which is quite frustrating because i have paid for this , Secondly response of the instructor is quite slow i have asked almost 8 to 9 questions but i only receive response on 1 questions. After 15 days the videos are not uploaded I have joined two other courses through udemy but this is the worst course I have only updated the ratings, my review comments are same. Your answers are not satisfactory, i can not draw the conclusion from it
