This course saved me for my Game Design module in university. Very comprehensive coverage of a lot of systems that go into making a platformer game, and I learnt so much about the game engine as well! Structure wise, the pacing and progression is very well done. Peter has ordered it in a way that makes a lot of sense, starting from just moving your player around, to creating its states, to introducing rooms, enemies, and other stuff. He also added in a lot of small tutorials that drastically improve game feel, like aesthetic additions that add more 'juiciness' to the game. That's a level of detail that I really appreciate. If you're familiar with coding, it's pretty easy to jump around to further sections of the course and still follow what's happening. If anything, long videos may be a little tiring, but maybe that's more due to the fact that I had a deadline to hit. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this course to anyone that's interested in making a platformer game such as this. In my opinion, programmers of any skill level would be able to pick this up, and likely add this language to their skills by the end of it. Thanks for saving my grade Peter :)

Eventually my love of gaming called and I started to move my programming skills more into thegaming side of things. Gaming is such a fundamentally fun thing to do for many people, and the rise of games in the last generation as an acceptable form of social mediahas been phenomenal. I believe we're just seeing the start of our gaming future, and am thrilledto see wherethe journeytakes us.
I've recently released my first Gamemaker app on IOSand Android. It's called Twos!and is fromSlyddar Studios.
